Mission Success: Ubbi Dubbi 2026

Set beneath the backdrop of a warm Texas weekend, this year’s Ubbi Dubbi festival, Into The Abyss, lived up to its dreamlike, aquatic roots. This year’s intillations were top-notch with the ever-popular portal ring leading into the underwater world. My personal favorite was the giant Ubbi Dubbi fan spread open, providing the perfect picturesque background for you and your rave fam!

While wandering through the festival grounds, it was nice to see so many crews embrace this year’s aquatic theme. I saw a plethora of top-notch jellyfish outfits that looked so intricate they must’ve taken months to sew. I was even pleased to see a few Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy from the hit series, SpongeBob. Outfits aside, it was time to set coordinates for Dubbi’s Stage and go find the music!

Day One

I decided to kick off day one with local favorites Deluluz, and let me tell you, I see why they have been making major waves within the scene lately. Chock-full of charisma and big, bouncy dubstep drops, they got my blood pumping instantly. After enjoying their set, I cruised around for a bit, grabbed a quick and easy slice of pizza, and made my way to the Zoom Room. I stumbled upon SLAMM performing and was stopped dead in my tracks. Groove-laden house beats filled the air, and I began to enjoy my food with a soft bounce. Not on my radar for the day, they are a playlist add for all my house heads!

Making my way towards Ubbi’s stage (main stage), I wanted to get in a good position for Alesso’s sunset set. Not before being caught off guard by OMNOM’s performance first. OMNOM brought the heat to Texas! His set was powerful and sexy, main stage vibes with a warehouse feel. A wonderful precursor to Alesso’s set. Transporting me back to the golden era of 2010’s dance music, Alesso’s sunset set was sick! Tons of pyro and a spectacular firework show to match, this jam-packed performance had us dancing into the night full steam ahead!

Land Ho!

After this beautiful time capsule concluded, I made my way to Dubbi’s stage, located at the back, to catch Whethan’s performance. Jam-packed with gritty hip-hop bangers, Whethan did not disappoint! I’ve been trying to catch his set for quite some time now. Finally, the barnacles aligned, and I got lost in the euphoric wubs and gritty baselines that are Whethan. After washing back up on land, it was time to make a mad dash back to the main stage for Tape B. X marks the spot as Dubbi’s stage came into view.

Yo Tape B! Show ’em how it’s done!

With huge LED cassette tape aesthetics surrounding the decks, this bass master consigliere began his work. Ripping through heavy-hitting collabs and signature Tape B tracks, this Florida native commands the center of attention. I’ve noticed at other multi-genre events that it doesn’t matter who you are or what genre you’re primarily into; fans always flood a Tape B set. “Yo Tape B” screeches through the speakers as massive green lasers blast through the night sky. The city skyline was illuminated when a blast of lasers and/or pyro exploded with the beats. This set was headline material for sure.

Lastly, I remained in place to catch Kx5 (Deamua5 & Kaskade ). A pleasant nightcap to a wonderful evening of bass, wubs, and beats. Their set was magnetic. Witnessing these two legends of the game was a perfect way to end night one!

Day Two

After a hearty breakfast and plenty of electrolytes, I was off to the races on Day two! Making a mad dash to Dubbi’s stage, I wanted to check out Tinykvt first and see what this cvntstep was all about! Her performance was legendary, from ripping open Pokémon packs on stage to grabbing the mic and singing her own edits and remixes. Tinykvt opened up day two with precision. After that, I enjoyed half of Canvas’ gritty ATL-driven bass set, then made my way back to the front of the venue.

After wading around in front of the venue for a while, I cast my line towards Dubbi’s stage to catch Blanke. I love his drum and bass stuff, so I just had to see what “normal” Blanke set was like! Melodic and packed with heavy bass, Blanke was a pleasant surprise for me on day two. One could only reach for a buoy from all the waves he was making on Dubbi’s stage. Then came LAYZ…

Watch out for the Aftershock!!!

LAYZ has been on my radar to catch live for quite some time now. I was super stoked to witness her glory in person for the first time! Known for massive hits like “Shockwave” and lightning-style graphics, she began to fit the backdrop a little too well. Her commanding riddim and high-energy set blazed an illuminating trail in the beckoning thunderstorm overhead. Getting hungry, I decided to go grab some Island Noodles from the nearby food truck when the announcement struck. “Please make your way to the parking lot and safely evacuate the premises.”

Alas, the party was over. As some attendees remained bitter, I didn’t mind leaving early. The safety of the festival-goers, artists, and everyone involved is always number one. A Texas spring can be finicky, with hail, heavy winds, and even tornadoes. Disco Presents made the right call in closing early; no amount of music is worth risking people’s lives. I said goodbye to some friends and made my way back to my truck. Until next year, Ubbi Dubbi!

Lift Off: Freaky Deaky “The Revival “ 2026

Disco Donnie spared nothing in amassing this colossal list of artistry for the return of Texas’ Freaky Deaky. Taking place at the Travis County exposition center on October 30th and 31st, true Halloween weekend. Leading this spooktacular weekend are some of electronic music’s most in-demand artists, such as ILLENIUM, Disco Lines, Liquid Stranger, Odd Mob, WHETHAN, and EDM’s power couple Alleycvt & Crankdat.

This year’s theme, “The Revival,” transports attendees to a dystopian laboratory where science and sound merge. Freaky Deaky is crafting an otherworldly sonic experience that develops throughout each stage and environment. Spanning three stages—The Reactor, The Circuit, and The Lab—attendees will move through a reanimated environment of evolving visuals, immersive production, and shifting design elements that blur the line between science fiction and the dancefloor.

A two-day gathering with enough bass and house to wake the dead.” Billboard

Let Him Cook!

Illenium’s emotionally charged moments sweep across the grounds like a hallowing wind deep into the night. Heavyweights SLANDER and Whethan guide the energy as the light begins to fade and night comes crawling in. A triple dose of weird enters the lab when Liquid Stranger, Boogie T, and Zingara cast their spell upon the crowd with their primal frequencies. Disco Lines, Odd Mob, and Mary Droppinz deliver high-energy sets within immersive, industrial-inspired environments. Lastly, late-night performances from Interplanetary Criminal, DJ Heartstring, and Hannah Laing carry the energy into the festival’s darker crevices across the spectrum.

Building on its legacy since debuting in Houston in 2018, Freaky Deaky has evolved into one of the nation’s largest and most unique Halloween dance music festivals. This year’s Austin edition will once again feature multiple stages, large-scale installations, roaming performers, and a crowd that turns the venue into a vibrant Halloween celebration. Sign up to be notified when tickets go on sale and be entered for a chance to win backstage passes.

Same Same But Different Unveils Massive Phase One Lineup For 2026

After a sold-out 2025 edition and a year marked by innovation, Same Same But Different Festival (SSBD) is set to return to the picturesque shores of Lake Perris, CA, from September 25 to 27. One of the few fan-owned festivals in the world, SSBD delivers a massive Phase One lineup yet again. Notable headliners such as Of The Trees, LSDREAM, Tape B, and Gramatik will grace the stage this coming year. Accompanying them are an eclectic mix of house and bass music producers, including Ship Wreck, KLO, Effin, Steller, Kasablanca, Wonky Willa, and many more.

Beyond the music, SSBD offers wellness workshops, including the return of LSDREAM’s Lightcode. This fan-favorite experience combines sound, meditation, and healing. Attendees can visit the Family Garden’s creative workshops and all-ages activities, participate in the community 5K, or enhance their weekend with VIP wellness experiences, including saunas, cold plunges, and recovery amenities. Nakey Island, SSBD’s exclusive boat-access-only retreat, also makes a comeback, featuring secluded beaches and open-air dance floors, making it one of the festival’s most popular attractions.

BUTWOOD STYLE!

Same Same But Different Festival (SSBD) recently announced “Butwood” as the 2026 theme for its “But” stage. Inspired by the Golden Age of Hollywood, the festival is turning into an interactive experience where attendees become part of the show. The grounds are reimagined as a living film set with a red carpet atmosphere, featuring prompts that allow fans to shape the weekend by developing characters and influencing the festival’s visual identity. This fan-forward-thinking, immersive touch invites attendees to be part of the magic, rather than just witness it.

Following a sold-out 2025 and 33% growth, SSBD emphasizes its community-first approach. It pioneered fan ownership, raising over $700,000 from fans and letting attendees become part-owners while maintaining independence. With 7,500 attendees, SSBD provides an intimate alternative to mega-festivals focused on connection, creativity, and shared ownership.

Liftoff: Showcation 2026

Nestled in the woods of Darlington, MD, Showcation returns to Camp Ramblewood for its third consecutive year. This three-day adult summer camp meets music festival draws an intimate crowd of 1,000 campers from across the Northeast. Attendees live onsite in cabins, are assigned to camp teams, and gather in a communal dining hall each day. They spend their days moving between music, comedy, and 20+ other activities spread across the campgrounds.

Think of your fondest camp memories, reimagined as an adult version with a modern twist. Showcation brings back that nostalgic summer camp feel, coupled with underground festival energy and the spontaneity of NYC nightlife. Crafting a choose-your-own-adventure for the weekend, where the experience goes far beyond the stages.

First and foremost in the music. Showcation shines a spotlight on emerging artists who are making their mark in pop culture and on stage. This year, talented femme house artists like Mayv and UNIIQU3, as well as the NYC indie-rock trio Chanpan, are featured. Also on the lineup are some of the hottest names in electronic music, including Super Future, Daniel Allan, Baauer, and In Parallel.

With so much room for activities, campers will be assigned to a team upon arrival (Fluffernutter, Laserface, Ramblesquawk, or Snugglebug). Each team competes in daily competitions such as dodgeball, kickball, canoeing, arts & crafts, and even Mario Kart! Some activities will earn your squad points, while others are just for pure enjoyment. By the end of the weekend, teams compete in a playoff championship that’s a perfect combination of competitive and absurd.

Let the absurdity begin!

On Saturday, the pool transforms into a massive Wet Hot American Summer-themed pool party. With float races and plenty of underwater fun, this unhinged pool party is exactly what you need to cool off in the summer sun. Campers also have the opportunity to be pulled into the Clown Cult. It’s exactly what it sounds like… We’ll let your imagination do the rest.

Project X’s house party delivers a rager reminiscent of an early 2000s movie scene. Packed with DJs, beer pong, and hundreds of partiers moving from room to room, your high school and college years will flood the memory bank. Guests will also get to enjoy the acclaimed Beatbox House crew (featured on America’s Got Talent) performing live sets with their insane vocal talents. Be prepared to laugh your head off at the Comedy Club happening in the Barn on Saturday night with virtual comedian Charlene Kay (as featured on Netflix Is A Joke Fest).

A retrofitted school bus doubles as a stage, parked right in the middle of the camp. When Baauer drops “Harlem Shake,” or Super Future unleashes the “Grove St. Party” remix, the crowd is sure to erupt with youth-filled intensity. Lock in your cabin now, brush off that 7th-grade social anxiety, and let’s get back to pure summer camp nostalgia. Tickets for this year’s Showcation are available here.
