Mission Success: System Overload Festival

System Overload premiered this past weekend with a statement: the underground is thriving, and the community is louder than ever. Across two sweat-soaked nights, the event transformed Rawhide into a pressure chamber of strobing lights, chest-rattling subs, and wall-to-wall energy that refused to dip.

Day One

The inaugural System Overload festival will undoubtedly be the topic of conversation for weeks to come. A full lineup of bass and riddim artists was something Rawhide had never seen, and we loved it!

Walking through security, the first thing you can feel is the bass billowing from the Vault 404 stage. As you walked into The Barn, Mile32 greeted you with a face full of dubstep. It gave you an irresistible urge to run right up and break the rail in two. The energy was so high that it was hard to consider even seeing the rest of the festival. The only thing that got people moving was a simple, infuriating question.

Who the F#%k is Richard Finger?!

Richard Finger System Overload stage shot

Outside at the Power Grid Stage, Richard Finger, an anonymous duo with finger masks, had the overwhelming majority of the early crowd captivated. We’re not sure if it was the masks (which politely presented the finger between your index and ring finger) or the insane flips and remixes that pulled in the crowd. Regardless of the reasoning, everyone was entertained.

For the wanderers and side questers looking for entertainment away from the music, a fun installation could be found in the back corner of The Barn. A mini arcade! Strangers turned into friends through friendly competition on old school games like Pac-Man, Time Crisis, Mortal Kombat, and even the first Big Buck Hunter. Although the nostalgia for the arcade games was captivating, the subwoofers served as a siren’s song, luring the wanderers back to the stage.

The energy of night 1 was turned up to the max from start to finish. Samplifier’s remix of Crankdat’s viral song “Movement” got a crowd reaction that could be heard from Los Angeles. The crowd then gave a louder roar when Wooli, Friday night closer, played his new track with Cyclops called “Jazz Cabbage“.

Day Two

If night one set the tone, night two shattered expectations. Word had clearly spread, because the energy surged from the first beat. Sets felt heavier, transitions tighter, and the crowd even more dialed in. Artists pushed boundaries, weaving in unexpected genre pivots — flashes of trap, bass house, and cinematic interludes — before slamming back into bass-driven chaos. The diversity kept the experience fresh, proving that the lineup was curated with intention rather than repetition.

SLANDER System Overload finale fireworks

Eptic brought razor-sharp sound design and mechanical precision, firing off punchy drops and chaotic switch-ups that kept the pit in constant motion. His set felt calculated yet wild, a masterclass in controlled destruction. Dropping “Wall Of Death“, the crowd did what any crowd should, and moshed at eachother into oblivion. NGHTMRE followed, blending festival trap energy with bone-rattling bass and euphoric builds. No matter the time or day, NGHTMRE always puts on a gnarly show, and I will die on that hill!

Closing out night two, SLANDER hit with emotional force, weaving melodic dubstep anthems through thunderous breakdowns that turned the venue into a sea of raised hands. Their ability to balance vulnerability and sheer power created one of those rare, goosebump-inducing finales. The entire venue felt synchronized. Phones dropped, hands went up, and strangers locked into the same rhythm. It wasn’t just a show — it was a shared release.

Finale Of A Lifetime

System Overload didn’t just meet expectations; it reinforced why these events matter. The sound was massive, the visuals were dialed, and the performances were fearless. And can we take a moment for those lasers?! More importantly, the crowd showed up with passion and respect, elevating both nights beyond standard concert territory. In a scene that constantly evolves, System Overload proved one thing this weekend: when production, talent, and community align, the result isn’t just loud — it’s unforgettable.

Mission Success: 2025 Apocalypse Zombieland

For the third year, zombies took over Apocalypse: Zombieland. Brain-eating zombies were defeated by two relentless days of heavy bass, dubstep, riddim, and drum and bass on November 28-29, 2025. The non-stop headbanging and mosh pits made Apocalypse: Zombieland a Mission Success!

The Queen Mary Waterfront was transformed into a world in ruins, with graffiti-painted shipping containers, a wrecked semi-truck, eerie lighting, and pyro galore. Apocalypse: Zombieland featured four distinct themed stages: Apocalypse Arena, Zombieland Citadel, Quarantine Zone, and Necropolis District—each with its unique personality. The main stage, Apocalypse Arena, was upgraded to feature a massive zombie head with scanning eyes. The hard-hitting lineup included over 80 artists, with sets from NERO, Zomboy, Wooli, Ganja White Night, NGHTMRE, and ATLiens, among many others!

At the main stage, Apocalypse Arena, the colossal illuminated zombie head served as a terrifying and awe-inspiring focal point. This was the place for the biggest sound, stunning visuals, fireworks, and massive pyrotechnics. Fans immersed themselves in heavy-hitting dubstep, mainstream bass, and melodic closers, getting lost in the mosh pits and headbanging to sets by Illenium, Excision, LAYZ, and more!

Next, fans could get down and gritty at Zombieland Citadel (The Gritty Fortress), which was designed as a decaying fortress turned chaotic. The atmosphere here was raw and full-throttle, emphasizing high-energy sets of gritty dubstep, hybrid trap, riddim, and experimental bass. Prominent names such as FuntCase B2B Midnight Tyrannosaurus, and BARELY ALIVE threw down!

Quarantine Zone (The Drum & Bass Sanctuary) featured a non-stop, infectious energy that kept the crowd dancing all day. This stage was dedicated to pure drum and bass, with artists like Andy C, Netsky, and Koven delivering high-speed beats that electrified the audience.

Last but not least, there was the Necropolis District (The Dark Industrial Hub), designed as a crossover stage built between industrial shipping containers and structures. It provided a darker, more underground feel, perfect for exploring the more chaotic and experimental side of bass music. This stage featured riddim, dark dubstep, tear-out, and experimental bass, hosting fast-rising underground acts like Eprom, Gentlemen’s Club, and Benda B2B OG Nixin, among others.

Everything about Apocalypse: Zombieland was what it needed to be, and tickets for next year are on sale now. General admission tickets start at $139.99. VIP tickets start at $289.99 for the Summer of the Living Dead, taking over the Queen Mary at Long Beach on June 19 and 20.

Mission Success: Wooli

The mission objective was simple: deliver a monumental night of bass to Arizona’s desert faithful. On Saturday night, Wooli executed flawlessly at Rawhide Event Center, unleashing a relentless combination of melodic anthems and skull-rattling drops. Fans poured in as doors opened at 8:00 PM, and the desert air pulsed with anticipation. The openers wasted no time in setting the tone. Rising bass talent District 13 took the decks first, blending heavy riddim with high-voltage dubstep to get heads knocking.

Capochino did his opening run with a mix of nostalgic club edits and off-kilter drops. ProbCause took the energy in a different direction, layering hip-hop flair with gritty basslines and unexpected genre pivots. Next, The Brothers—Automhate and MAD DUBZ—brought a no-holds-barred B2B session. Their riddim-heavy attack hit like a jolt of caffeine. LEVEL UP dropped a hypnotic mix of wobbly basslines and sharp, crowd-pleasing heaters. Her seamless blends of heavy collabs and fresh IDs had the audience locked in from start to finish.

Wooli then took the stage, fusing emotional melodies with destructive energy—a balance that’s made him one of bass music’s most sought-after acts. Crowd roars erupted during unreleased IDs and VIPs like “Chaos Theory (VIP) [unreleased] and “Name Drop” (VIP) [unreleased] x “Shadow Land Burial” [unreleased]. The Wild West atmosphere met futuristic production as lasers split the night sky. LED walls moved in sync with Wooli’s basslines. Every drop felt like a shockwave. Each subwoofer system tuned so tightly that you could feel it in your chest.

By the end of the night, Rawhide had once again proven itself a battlefield for bass. Wooli’s mission was not only accomplished—it was a victory carved into the desert floor, remembered by every fan who lived through the bass stampede.

Launch Guide: Wooli

Tomorrow, the bass stampede charges into Chandler as Wooli takes over Rawhide Event Center. Known for his “mammoth-sized” drops and melodic dubstep prowess, Wooli has cemented himself as one of the most explosive forces in modern bass music. Hosted by Relentless Beats, fans can expect a journey through soul-gripping melodies, dinosaur-sized breakdowns, and unreleased IDs that shake the desert floor.

Rawhide, Arizona’s premier dance playground, has become a sanctuary for bassheads with its open-air setting and Wild West aesthetic. The venue provides an immersive experience unlike anywhere else in the Valley. With its sprawling grounds and production capabilities, it promises to amplify Wooli’s set into a full-scale audio-visual assault. Expect LED walls, lasers cutting through the desert night, and subwoofers tuned to perfection.

Wooli Rawhide Set Times and Lineup

Pro Tips:

  • Arrive early. Entry lines at Rawhide can stack quickly. Parking opens at ~7:00 PM, an hour before the doors. Arriving between 7:00–7:30 PM gets you a premium spot and a smooth walk-in.
  • Hydrate often. Even though the show is at night, Arizona stays dry. Bring a hydropack! Refill stations are available on-site. Pace your drinks early to stay hydrated through the show.
  • Prepare for heavy bass. Wooli shows are HEAVY on sub-bass. Bring ear protection to protect your hearing. If you forget your pair, don’t fret! Stop by the Moon Lvnding booth to grab a pair.
  • Dress for the desert. Warm nights can turn cool quickly, with the temperature dropping as low as 81°F this weekend. Opt for a light jacket or a long-sleeved shirt you can tie around your waist. Breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics help during dancing, too.

There’s still time to secure a ticket. Supporting acts will prime the crowd before Wooli’s headlining set, ensuring no moment goes to waste. Whether you’re staking out the rail or roaming the dancefloor with friends, this show promises to be a highlight of Arizona’s bass calendar. Pack smart, hydrate, and prepare—because once Wooli takes the stage, it’s all gas, no brakes.

Moon Fvm Favs of 2024

As 2024 comes to a close, the Moon Lvnding Fvm is reflecting on all the unforgettable sets that defined our year. From major festivals to hometown shows, we’ve danced, headbanged, and grooved our way across every corner of the US. Here’s a look at some of our staff’s favorite sets, festivals, and b2b performances from the past year.

What was your favorite set? Where was it and why was it your favorite?

Jessica Duncan – Assignment Director
Odezsa at Fulsom Field in Boulder, CO. This was the first time I was able to catch an Odezsa set since 2015 when they first began to blow up. The production was amazing, from fireworks to the full drum line and all the vocalists featured on their tracks. The set list covered every song I wanted to hear. The rain couldn’t stop us!”

Sam Wolloch – Chief Editor
Wooli at Electric Forest. I really enjoyed it because I was with my closest rave family on the grass field of Tripolee and Wooli played a ton of amazing new IDs. He was pumped up the entire set, and you could tell how much of his energy and passion went into its production.”

Troy Andrea – Staff Writer
Levity at Sunbar! Those boys bring such awesome energy to the stage. Their rapid blow-up this past year really just shows how success can find anyone. From having a USB at EForest to almost headlining festivals, they deserve all the hype, and their shows prove it.”

Grant Soffer – Staff Writer | Event Staff
“Like many people are probably going to say, Tiesto at Groove Cruise was my favorite set of 2024. He played the headlining spot on the beach in the Bahamas and delivered the best hour of music I have ever experienced in my life. All of his song choices and transitions were immaculate, and the backdrop of the beautiful ocean and cruise ship made the setting even more beautiful. Being surrounded by 20 close friends, all smiling ear to ear and dancing our hearts out, made it even more special. That will be a set I will remember for the rest of my life.”

Kiana Kraft – Staff Writer
Kygo‘s headlining set at his own Palm Tree Festival in Oahu. Kygo is, and has been for a long time, my favorite artist. To finally get a chance to go to his festival in the perfect tropical place (he is the tropical house king) was so magical.”

Shae McCormick – Social Media Coordinator
Subtronics at Lost Lands. This was the final boss of Subtronics sets (so far). Old music, new music, all at Wompy Woods for sunset. He had the Cyclops Army going absolutely feral.”

Kate Nelson – Public Relations Director
Andrew Bayer at Sunbar in Arizona. He was touring his new EP, which has my all-time favorite song, ‘Places I Belong.’ It was a super high-energy set that flowed effortlessly between trance subgenres. I have a ‘Places I Belong’ tattoo, and I got to meet him and show it to him right before he went on!”

What was your favorite festival you attended?

Jessica – “I didn’t go to too many festivals this year; the only EDM festival I attended was Global Dance. For my full thoughts on it, check out my review from earlier this year.”

Sam – “Despite (or maybe because of) all of the weather difficulties, Elements 2024 was my favorite festival of the five fests I attended this year (Glow, Electric Forest, Secret Dreams, Elements, Lost Lands). The lineup was tremendous from Thursday to Sunday, and the vibes at the Friday renegades for those who weathered the storm were off the charts. The new layout at the Water Stage was outstanding, and I always love festivals that allow LSDream to have his Lightcode session on Sunday morning.”

Troy – “Lost Lands was awesome this year. The new Crater stage was so cool. I love how they bring the 360-experience to a new scale!”

Grant – “North Coast Music Festival in Chicago was and probably always will be my favorite festival. The layout of the venue is so well thought out, and there are endless activities and hidden adventures throughout the festival. Couple that with the amazing talent they always book on the lineup, and this becomes the perfect festival. All other festivals should be taking notes and copying their playbook.”

Kiana – “Coachella is my favorite festival and probably will be for a long time. I look forward to it every year. There’s nothing I look forward to more than dancing on the polo fields in the desert with the best music and the best people and planning fun outfits, of course.”

Shae – “Elements, Poconos PA. While the weather was a crazy experience, our group, Camp Happy Feet, came prepared for the unexpected and braved the storm with minimal damage. We made it out to the renegades night one to make up for the missed Friday of the fest, and they did not disappoint. Seeing Tape B three times in one night was a highlight; his b2b with Disco Lines, classic Car Tunes-Essie festival set at Club Renegade, and a special downtempo afters at Corporate Wooks. I also loved the art cars they had at the fest, like Harvey Disco Kitty at Fire Stage.”

Kate – “Dreamstate! The vibes are always incredible, and it has the friendliest crowd.”

What was your favorite b2b set you saw?

Jessica – “Worship (Sub Focus, Dimension, Culture Shock, 1991) at Mission Ballroom. This night was the epitome of drum and bass. I went with one of my good friends, and we absolutely lost our minds the entire time.”

Sam – “My favorite b2b of the year had to be the world debut of the 4+ hour extended club set by Waxtroda (Wax Motif b2b Matroda) at the world-famous Brooklyn Mirage. They kept the vibes high for the entire set, and the whole crowd was grooving to their sexy house beats.”

Troy – “Heritage b2b Drinkurwater at Bass Canyon! Their sound designs just complement each other so well, and it was such a fun set to be a part of.”

Grant – “My favorite b2b from this year was probably Subtronics and Level Up at Beyond Wonderland in California. Zeds Dead had a last-minute cancelation, so the couple stepped up to fill the spot. It was a much smaller crowd than a normal Subtronics set, but that didn’t stop him from giving one of the best performances I have ever seen. It was a great way to close out night two of Beyond Wonderland.”

Kiana – “IsoKnock (ISOxo b2b Knock2) at Coachella Sahara tent. These two were the most incredibly perfect duo to go b2b at Sahara, and the energy was insane for the entire set. Safe to say people were dancing and partying at that set.”

Shae – “Excision b2b Wooli, Lost Lands Prehistoric Stage. They served dubstep at Dubstep Disneyland, and I successfully coordinated the rave fam meet-up with friends from all over the country. We had everyone in the right place at the right time, and the drone show was so cool! They even did Becky’s (one of the dinosaurs) butthole in drones! Shoutout to Crater Stage though: the star of Lost Lands this year.”

Stay tuned to Moon Lvnding for more content as we close out the year. For those located in Arizona, Decadence 2024 is just around the corner, and it’s sure to bring some unforgettable sets. We’re hyped to be there and can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for dance music!
