longstoryshort Drops “IN MY MIND” EP

DJ/producer longstoryshort has unveiled his groundbreaking EP, IN MY MIND, on Insomniac’s NIGHTMODE label. The EP delves into themes of light and dark, building on a year of major career milestones, including a collaboration with Dillon Francis on “Take Me Away,” an official remix of The Bloody Beetroots and Steve Aoki’s “Warp 1.9,” and two official remixes for Odesza. Since his launch in 2019, longstoryshort has consistently pushed boundaries and challenged norms, with IN MY MIND offering an innovative glimpse into his bright future.

IN MY MIND EP is a journey through the dual sides of my music and personal experiences,” said longstoryshort. “Dark Mode [first half] brings out that raw, heavy-energy, side of me that leans into harder sounds and unfiltered intensity, while Light Mode [second half] explores a softer, emotional side, giving space to reflect and feel. Together, they offer a full view into my world, and I hope listeners connect with these tracks as a soundtrack to their own highs, lows, and everything in between.”

The IN MY MIND EP by longstoryshort is a dynamic blend of genres and emotions, designed to suit any setting, from club nights to introspective moments. It opens with “INTRO (DARK MODE),” a cinematic prelude that leads into the explosive bass house energy of the title track, “IN MY MIND.” The momentum continues with “IJUSTWANNA,” a collaboration with SPORTMODE, merging UK garage, drum & bass, and electrifying sirens. A brief pause comes with “interlude (light mode),” seamlessly transitioning the EP’s second half.

The second half brings depth and emotion, starting with “take the fall (don’t let it stop you),” a chill, melodic track with a hypnotic bassline. The EP concludes with “part of me,” an emotional finale combining heartfelt lyrics and dreamy production. With IN MY MIND, longstoryshort showcases his versatility and storytelling, offering an immersive, multi-sensory experience.

The IN MY MIND EP is just the start of an exciting chapter for longstoryshort, showcasing his ability to push boundaries and captivate listeners with his unique sound. If you want to experience his music live or stay updated on future releases, don’t miss his headlining shows on November 21 at Barboza in Seattle, WA, and February 22 at Dark Star in Tempe, AZ. ALLEYCVT Captivates NYC’s Webster Hall On “Feel It” Tour

Last Friday, November 8, ALLEYCVT took over New York City’s historic Webster Hall for an epic show on her current “Feel It” Tour. The budding dubstep star brought along Capochino and Sharlitz Web for support.

Capochino got the party started at midnight and the NYC crowd quickly filled up the dance floor. Clearly, ALLEYCVT made some strong choices for support on this show because Webster Hall doesn’t typically fill up so quickly for the opener. Capochino slayed his set, playing a bunch of his signature flips as well as some familiar dubstep anthems from Subtronics. He finished with a few tunes featuring live vocals from a talented MC whose name I was not able to confirm in time for release.

Sharlitz Web took the stage at 1am, and the hall was nearly packed. Despite her more downtempo sound, she had the crowd whipped up in a dancing frenzy. There were even a few mosh pit sightings during Sharlitz’s set, which surely came as a surprise to me. I’ve rarely seen Webster Hall so engaged and excited for an EDM show, which is a testament to the talent and prowess of ALLEYCVT’s NYC lineup.

The star of the show took centerstage around 2am, and ALLEYCVT played hit after hit for her adoring fans. Her tour production looked great with rainbow-colored lasers complementing her LED graphics. She even teased a few new tracks and IDs from her upcoming debut EP. The crowd went completely bananas during her set, and the energy was electric. Not only were there multiple mosh pits throughout the set, but the crowd also opened an all-girls mosh pit.

Even when ALLEYCVT finished her 90-minute set at 3:30am, the New York crowd chanted for more. She played an encore before dashing off the stage. But those fans who stuck around a little bit longer were able to catch up with ALLEYCVT when she popped out of the green room at 3:45am. She met with dozens of fans, taking pictures, signing merch, and answering questions. She even received a few gifts, including a gorgeous pendant which was synced to an internet ID for authenticity.

ALLEYCVT still has another five weeks left on her “Feel It” Tour this fall, including two shows at Denver’s Ogden Theater to finish. Limited tickets are still available, so get yours now if you want to feel it, too! The OUTLAW Turned The Shrine Into A Warehouse Rave

Last weekend The OUTLAW, DJ Snake‘s new alias, sold out the historic Shrine in Downtown Los Angeles and turned it into a unique, immersive European style rave. With a 360 caged stage, dark techno beats, trap, and a slew of special guests, The OUTLAW’s LA debut was a pinnacle experience.

A stark difference from his typical DJ Snake sets–The OUTLAW set out to make his own name last weekend. The night was filled with heavy, dark techno beats, hard trap, lasers, and crazy lights. The crowd energy was unmatched from the opening song to the final epic b2b2b2b2b. The OUTLAW showcased his diversity throughout the night with flawless transitions from one style to the next and from drop to drop. At points he even remixed his own songs like “Let Me Love You” into a heavy techno beat that had the whole crowd shook.

The OUTLAW came out walking through the crowd like a UFC fighter on his way to the 360 caged stage in the middle of the crowd, giving the sold out crowd a great view of OUTLAW doing his thing and the ability to interact, party, and at times mosh with each other. He had what looked like medieval-era banners hung throughout the venue and above the DJ booth was his new logo, which features a red snake in the shape of an O with a sword through the middle.

In addition to The OUTLAW’s insane almost 2 hour set, he also brought surprise guests with him. He debuted a new song with the trap legend Flosstradamus that was absolute madness and we will be counting down the days until it is released. He then played b2b with the hard trap godfather himself SAYMYNAME for roughly 20 minutes, setting the crowd off to a different level. OUTLAW and SAYMYNAME both got on the mic to pump the crowd up for the epic finale. The 20 minute finale was a treat for everyone in the crowd. An epic b2b which featured The OUTLAW, SAYMYNAME, Flosstradamus, Wuki and more took over.

The OUTLAW has also announced his tour going from LA to NYC, Denver, Amsterdam, Berlin and many more cities throughout the country and world. You can now RSVP for the tour stop nearest you here. Do not miss this one of kind, immersive hard techno legend in the making and be prepared to use every ounce of energy you have. Follow along using the links below.

Patrick Topping at the club for his sober rave

Patrick Topping’s Sober Rave Success

Could we see more sober raves in the future? Patrick Topping threw his first back on October 27 at World Headquarters Club in Newcastle. Back in September, he announced on Instagram, “I’m putting on a Sober October Rave! No alcohol will be served, and it will be during the day. I started playing sober in 2017, and it changed my relationship with music and partying and improved my mental and physical health so much.” Bringing the focus to health and support at a rave isn’t the status quo, and yet it was a massive success!

Topping reflected on the event, posting on his Instagram, “This isn’t about taking away people’s choice, it’s about providing an extra choice. Also some people need this type of event. It was nice to speak to people who told some of their sobriety stories. Such a mix of people there, fitness fanatics, people in recovery, but mainly sober curious ravers who didn’t want to feel like shite the next day for change 😂 It was amazing to see the energy and everyone proper going for it! I was so nervous for this, but I had a massive feeling it would work and thankfully it did, I’m f*kin buzzing! It was so important to me that it felt proper and it did, so going to have to do a dry Jan one now 💥 More info incoming asap ❤️”

Waxtroda World Premier Extended Club Set

While everyone looks forward to spooky season and Halloweekend, I’m still thinking about the world club premier of Waxtroda. The collaborative project from Wax Motif and Matroda debuted at EDC Orlando last year. Then a few weeks ago on October 11, they sold out one of America’s landmark nightclub venues, The Brooklyn Mirage, with a first-ever extended 4+ hour club set.

The set captivated the crowd and kept us moving all night long. In fact, they blew past the four-hour mark and kept the club open past the 4am curfew because the crowd couldn’t get enough. The two house producers teased a ton of new IDs and the cream of the crop will likely feature on their forthcoming Waxtroda EP. Although they officially started their Waxtroda project last year, Wax Motif and Matroda have previously released two collaborative songs.

In 2019, they dropped their first collab, “Lose Control,” on Wax’s Divided Souls label. Then in 2022, they renewed their partnership to release “La Candela Viva” on HARD Recs. Lucky for us, from what I heard at the show, they have a handful of heaters getting their finishing touches before they go on the new EP. Now, the only question is how long we will have to wait until they start releasing songs under the new Waxtroda project. Hopefully, they don’t make us wait too much longer before they drop some new tunes.

For those looking for the next chance to dance to the sexy beats of Waxtroda, they are scheduled for another festival set at the upcoming Seismic Dance Event in Austin, TX on the weekend of November 15 – 17. To keep up with all the latest news and announcements about the Waxtroda project, be sure to follow their new IG account and check in on their individual social media channels too.

Marauda Cancels November Retribution Dates

Mental health is vital, and it’s necessary to prioritize and take care of it, especially for DJs who often face intense pressure in their careers. In light of this, Marauda has made the difficult decision to cancel his shows from November 1st to November 28th during his Retribution tour. His final show of this tour will be on December 6th in Chicago; Infekt and 7L will be supporting him. He is prioritizing his mental health and family time, which he recognizes as essential for personal growth and creativity. Throughout this month, Marauda intends to focus on spending quality time with his loved ones and working on new music.

In his recent Instagram statement, he expressed his gratitude, saying, “To anyone who has ever f*cked with my shit, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.” While it’s disappointing for fans to see these shows canceled, it’s essential to understand that this time off is necessary for Marauda’s well-being. Reaper Drops Deluxe Version of Acclaimed Album ‘CHALLENGER’

Back in March, international drum & bass icon REAPER dropped his captivating 7-track album, CHALLENGER. Due to the groundbreaking release of his previous DISRUPTOR album followed by the electrifying DISRUPTOR (REMIXES), fans have eagerly awaited an extended version of this new album. REAPER delivered what fans have longed for with his newest release, CHALLENGER (DELUXE).

Fans had a sneak peek into this extended album with the release of two of his latest tracks, “BLOW THE ROOF” with Pirapus in July and “SECONDS” featuring Space Cadet released in August. After the success of these two singles, the remaining tracks on CHALLENGER (DELUXE) look to exceed expectations.

“SURFACING,” the ninth song on CHALLENGER (DELUXE), opens with angelic vocals inviting listeners to “take a breath with me.” Then it dives into a powerful drum & bass drop, later escalating with an even more intense second drop.

The tenth track, “CURRENT,” begins with repeated vocals, slowly building layers of drums and beats that lead into a bass-heavy drop, followed by an even grittier, bass-face-inducing second drop.

The twelfth track, “ROWDY” featuring PERSONA NON GRATA, kicks off with a whispered warning to “back the fuck up,” which is soon joined by hard-hitting drums and guitar. The intensity rises, vocals grow louder with the chant “It’s about to get rowdy,” and a drum & bass drop unleashes an electrifying climactic drop.

Finally, the album closes with a collaboration with AMAGII and TINYKVT, called “WORLDS AWAY.” The song starts with soft, ethereal vocals. Then as the beat gradually intensifies, a techno rhythm comes in, eventually leading to a high-energy drum & bass line that wraps up the album with a thrilling finish.

REAPER has been captivating crowds worldwide with his CHALLENGER World Tour. He also played at major festivals such as Beyond Wonderland, Forbidden Kingdom, Rampage Open Air, Tomorrowland, Lost Lands, and many more. Don’t miss the chance to catch one of his sets live, so give him a follow on his socials below and secure your ticket for one of his fall shows before the tickets sell out.

Blanke Puts On The Show Of A Lifetime At Sunbar

Blanke took over the valley of the sun this past Saturday during his Earth To The Stars: Emergence Tour playing two sets including one as his ÆON:MODE project earlier in the night. To open the show, CHASIN‘ threw some nasty drops that proved he is an up-and-coming force to be reckoned with. The energy of the crowd was infectious; it only got more hype (and hot) as the night went on and not one person let up on the gas.

The soaring Drum & Bass project ÆON:MODE followed CHASIN’ for a captivating 45-minute set. While I do love a good heavy bass drop, I couldn’t help but want an encore for more DnB! Blanke brings such genuine energy to his music and performance and it shows through his fans’ love and excitement. The visuals and remixes captured my attention and I came to understand why so many fans arrive early to catch this set!

One of my favorite aspects of this show was the visuals—everyone absolutely showed up in that department. Following the Drum & Bass craziness, EDDIE set the final tone for the night, not leaving any room for downtime. Playing a personal favorite with Quackson, “Caffeine Induced Psychosis,” he also teased a new upcoming single with the OG, Zomboy.

The man of the hour, Blanke closed the night out and showed why he is one of the top names in music. With his diverse setlist, gnarly remixes, and mesmerizing visuals, I can easily say he is one of the top artists I have seen thus far. You can tell that Blanke puts his whole heart and soul into his performance by the infectious energy he brings. Catch a glimpse below:

Brownies & Lemonade Conquer The K Bridge

It’s been nearly a month since Brownies & Lemonade brought the heat to Brooklyn, but I still can’t get that epic show off my mind. The Southern California event brand started the fall EDM season by taking over one of New York City’s most unique new venues, Under the K Bridge Park. Located directly underneath the Kosciuszko Bridge, Brownies & Lemonade converted the covered outdoor space into the place to be on Friday, September 27.

Of course, setting up the space for an event is only part of the challenge; the other is enlisting a strong lineup. B&L held nothing back when curating the diverse bass lineup for this event, including an epic b2b set featuring special guests Camo & Krooked, Mefjus, and Daxta MC. During the daylight hours, Jawns, Frosttop, and Wavedash got the party started. Then to close the night out after the b2b, Madeon played a deliciously bass-heavy set followed by a special set from the birthday girl, Alison Wonderland.

One of the more memorable moments of the night happened as Alison Wonderland started her set. Her tour manager punked her by cutting the volume to her mixer while the LED screen behind her said that the audio was cut so the crowd could sing her “Happy Birthday.” After a confused few seconds, Alison caught on to the prank, turned to see the message behind her, and then got serenaded by the raucous Brooklyn crowd.

As a native New Yorker, I love to see artists embrace our culture in their sets and Alison Wonderland went there. She came out in a Rocawear S. Carter jersey to pay homage to Jay-Z and made sure to drop her Notorious B.IG. remix in her set, showing love to Brooklyn’s two most famous hip-hop artists. Even B&L got in the spirit of the big city by adopting its sustainability efforts to eliminate single-use plastics from events. Instead of vendors serving drinks in disposable cups, they used reusable cups and had cup collection bins scattered around the park. B&L even invited some local NYC food trucks to pull up and offer tasty treats for hungry patrons.

All things considered, Brownies & Lemonade curated an outstanding event here in Brooklyn and we’re already looking forward to their return to NYC. B&L showcased a diverse range of international bass artists and the crowd enjoyed the show by moving and dancing all night. While they might be a California-based event brand, Moon Lvnding would sure love to see Brownies and Lemonade come back to New York as soon as they can.
