Dirtybird Records Flying High For 20 Years!

Los Angeles-based house and techno record label Dirtybird Records has been injecting raucous bliss into dance music lovers and dance floors for 20 years. This two-decade journey has been filled with rowdy releases and rebellious events. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Dirtybird is providing fans with new releases, merchandise, and an anniversary tour that will keep the party soaring all year!

The label will bring its superstar artists around the globe on its 20th Anniversary Tour starting in Portland, OR on February 8. The tour will also stop in Miami, Denver, Seattle, Phoenix, and San Francisco. Fans can expect the unique oddities and eccentricities they love at Dirtybird live events. Dirtybird’s renowned quirky personalities extend beyond music; they encompass comedy, art, yoga, and more. These events are truly one-of-a-kind and should not be missed!

This four-vinyl compilation features 16 of Dirtybird’s greatest hits from over the years, including tracks by Claude VonStroke, FISHER, John Summit, and Get Real, as well as longtime label legends Walker & Royce. It also includes newer artists like VNSSA and Nala, to name a few.

The Fresh Eggs box set comes packaged in a custom egg carton-themed box, which includes a selection of limited edition merchandise such as jewelry and four vinyl coasters featuring original artwork from the tracklist!

Wiley Kicks off 2025 with New EP “Rug Burn”

Rising bass producer Wiley ended 2024 on a high note by performing at Ravenscoon’s New Year’s Eve event in Indianapolis. Obviously he had to kick off 2025 with a bang by released his highly anticipated 3-track EP Rug Burn today. This EP delivers both a bass-forward and gritty sonic experience. Since this release is coming just ahead of Wiley’s journey as a supporting act for Tape B at multiple iconic venues across the U.S., fans will have the exciting opportunity to experience Rugburn live.

“I’m really thrilled with how this project turned out – it feels like an evolution of my sound,” said Wiley. “The process of crafting these tunes has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to dive even deeper into exploring heavier, more dynamic tracks. This is just the beginning!”

Jade Cicada Returns with First Release in Two Years: “Frame Shift”

Acclaimed producer Jade Cicada is celebrated for captivating audiences with his distinctive soundscapes. He is known for blending intricate electronic beats with jazz influences. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Cicada honed his skills in jazz theory and sound design. Using these foundations, he is able to push creative boundaries and craft complex, sophisticated compositions. This unique fusion of elements has made Jade Cicada’s sound both innovative and unmistakably recognizable.

Nearly two years ago, he released his widely acclaimed LP Pressure Gamut and has since remained quiet—until last week’s release of his new track, “Frame Shift.” This release is significant due to the time between projects and because it marks a shift in Jade Cicada’s music production as he transitions from Ableton to Bitwig.

“This tune [Frame Shift] was heavily inspired by beat scene type music of the early 2010s,” said Jade Cicada. “Sunclef’s 2011 tune “Droski” is definitely the biggest influence in the direction of ‘Frame Shift.’ I’ve been wanting to make music in that style but with a heavier bass/dance production to it for a long time. A goal of mine is to make more melodically and harmonically driven boom-bappy bangers like this one.”

“Frame Shift“ offers listeners a glimpse of Jade Cicada’s signature style while showcasing a more mature, polished sound. It pushes boundaries and hints at the exciting future of his music. The single explores glitch-heavy beats layered with ethereal melodies and rich synths. Using Bitwig has also added a fresh and dynamic dimension to his production.

Jade Cicada is also launching the highly anticipated ‘Break The Hold’ tour in 2025. The tour will span nine dates and feature two rare festival appearances—his return to Electric Forest and a debut at Lightning In A Bottle. Rusko Returns To Say “Wassup”

Dubstep legend Rusko made his much-anticipated return to release day with his first single in over two years, “Wassup,” which dropped via Monstercat on November 20. Rusko shares, “‘Wassup’ was started last year on tour in Australia and ever since, has been a puzzle I couldn’t quite crack and get just right… but it’s always been stuck in my head. After adding ‘Wassup’ into my DJ sets, I had an earth-shattering break-through, and within the first couple of nights spinning the tune, it was finished!”

Zingara New Album ‘For The Crystal Children’ Explores Manifestation And Self-Love

Zingara recently dropped For The Crystal Children EP as a follow-up to her debut album The Code of Dreamz. Known for her signature blend of bass-heavy beats and dream-inspired soundscapes, Zingara’s latest project delves into themes of self-discovery, manifestation, and spiritual healing, capturing her vision of music as a transformative experience.

“When it was time to start brainstorming new ideas, this concept popped into my head,” said Zingara. “The Crystal Children are souls that volunteer to come to Earth to help the collective learn to love and heal.”

This four-track EP draws inspiration from Zingara’s childhood dreams and journey of manifestation and self-discovery. The opening track, “For the Crystal Children,” begins with ethereal themes, as the lyrics describe Crystal Children as enlightened beings on a mission to heal the Earth. As the vocals fade, a deep bassline joins the melody, setting the tone for the rest of the project.

The second track, “Move With the Sound,” features trumpeter Maurice Brown and explores darker themes with a powerful bassline, creating a tribal vibe. The third track, “Shape Shift,” showcases Zingara’s versatility, beginning as a bass house track before transforming into a deeper, wonkier bass sound. Her vocals describe someone being given a drink that causes them to shape shift, evoking euphoria and loosened inhibitions.

The final track, “Rhythm of Life,” features producer Steller and Maurice Brown, offering an otherworldly melody fused with Brown’s jazzy trumpet and the lyrics “Dance to the Rhythm of Life.” This song rounds out the album’s theme of living in the moment and celebrating life in a vibrant, uplifting close.

“The Crystal Children is a concept and belief that our souls have lived many past lives and are currently incarnated onto Earth to gain knowledge, life experiences and act out of love in the present moment,” said Zingara. “The music I created is here to suggest to you to enjoy every emotion that comes with life because you have a long unique journey ahead and only you are in charge of giving yourself permission to let loose, live in the moment, and feel the music that is here to help you do so. It is a reminder to myself and my listeners to allow yourself to be free.
