Four Artists To See At Shambhala 2025

This year, I’ll be headed to my first festival in Canada in over twenty years. I’m so excited to reunite with my festival family and meet up at Salmo River Ranch for the 26th annual Shambhala Music Festival. Canada’s top festival runs from Friday, July 25, through Monday, July 28, with camping opening up as early as Tuesday, July 22!

The festival lineup is packed with headlining talent, including native Canadians Rezz and Excision. I could go on, but I don’t have all day. In this article, I’ll focus on four names from the middle tier that I’m looking forward to seeing at Shambhala 2025. With respect to all my fellow Ws, Ys, and Zs, my list runs in reverse alphabetical order.

WHIPPED CREAM

Spending this weekend at Tomorrowland and next week at Shambhala, it is the culmination of a 2025 renaissance for Whipped Cream. She’s dropped three hot new tunes recently, including the stage-ready single “collide” on Monstercat just last Wednesday, July 16. Her new album, Careline, was released at the start of the year, and last month she uploaded her 2025 Shambhala Mix Series set. You can catch Whipped Cream on Day 1, playing on Friday, July 25 at 11pm on the Amphitheatre Stage.

Shades

The dynamic duo of Eprom and Alix Perez, known as Shades, is smack in the middle of a 10-year anniversary tour, which started back on May 8. After their performance at Shambhala, there just a handful of stops left on the tour for their spring album, The Lower World. This is one performance to lock into your schedule now! Shades plays on Day 1 at the Amphitheatre Stage in the wee hours of Saturday, July 26 at 1:30am.

Mersiv

Mersiv is another Moon Lvnding favorite gracing the stage at Shambhala 2025. We covered his 2023 album Out of Bounds, and loved his recent album 444 last spring. For those who won’t be able to see him at Shambhala, Mersiv is taking over Virginia Beach for two nights on August 15 + 16, and tickets are still available. For those on hand at Salmo Ranch, Mersiv plays late on Day 3 at the Pagoda on Monday morning, July 28 at 1:45am.

ALLEYCVT

Fan favorite Alleycvt makes her Shambhala debut and I’m totally here for it. The squad is hyped after her monster year on the Feel It Tour. One of her 2025 singles, “Dawn,” was a collab with Mersiv and Seeka. With her expanding library, she’s got an arsenal of bass bangers for the festival stage, but I’m most curious to hear how the artists edit their sets to fit the Shambhala vibes. And always the fresh IDs, please! Alleycvt takes the Village Stage on Day 2, Sunday morning, July 27 at 2am.

Of course, there are hundreds more artists to choose from, and never enough time to hear them all. Super Future, Moody Good, Josh Teed, and 1tbsp all call to me from the 3rd tier names, but who knows where the group will take us? The best treat of all is getting to explore a new festival ground with the fam, so I’ll be sure to get a feel for all the different stages. To keep up with the latest about the festival, find Shambhala’s links below.

Carrie Keller Set to Light Up RISE Festival

Founded in 2014, RISE festival is rooted in its dedication to celebrating light, growth, and transformation. Now celebrating a decade since its inception, this year’s festival is the most ambitious yet. With headliners Calvin Harris, RÜFÜS DU SOL, John Mayer, Disclosure, and Ben Böhmer set to hit the stage. Alongside these global icons are rising stars in the dance music scene, including house sensation and Las Vegas’s very own DJ and producer Carrie Keller.

Carrie Keller has made significant strides in 2025. She’s performed at premier festivals and venues, including Into the Horizon Festival, AYU Dayclub, and supported major acts like Carneyval. Playing Horizon, the same stage as Calvin Harris, Keller brings a sound that blends club energy with personal connection. Her deep grooves and melodic textures are sure to be a memorable experience for the RISE crowd.

“I actually had no idea who else was on the lineup until I saw the flyer,” Keller shared. “It was a total surprise… and honestly kind of emotional. Seeing my name next to artists I’ve looked up to for years made me feel like I’m on the right path. RISE is more than just a show — it’s a statement. And I’m honored to be a part of it.”

One aspect of RISE festival that sets the experience apart from others, is its ritual of light and release. Each evening ends with a breathtaking sky lantern release. Thousands of attendees send their written wishes, dreams, and reflections floating into the desert sky. The ceremony creates a powerful moment of unity and emotion, adding a soulful layer to the festival’s atmosphere. Described by many as a “life-changing experience,” it is an honor to the artists who are able to serve as the eclectic soundtrack to this ethereal event.

“The lantern element is just so sick,” Keller says. “Music brings you into the present moment — but the lanterns give that moment a purpose. I’m going to be playing while people send their hopes and dreams into the sky. That’s not just a set —that’s a shared memory.”

As Carrie Keller gears up to bring her signature sound to RISE festival, she is also crafting the perfect soundscape for an unforgettable and shared emotional experience. Whether you’re dancing under the stars or sending your hopes into the sky, her set promises to be a powerful moment you won’t forget. Don’t miss her performance on the Horizon stage at RISE Festival! Follow her socials below to stay in the loop.

NITEHARTS Lineup Cements Knock2 And ISOxo As Superstars

Less than two years ago, Knock2 and ISOxo were underground favorites in the EDM community, each cultivating die-hard fan bases with their distinctive styles rooted in trap and bass house. Now, the duo is headlining renowned festivals such as Coachella and EDC, and going beyond the main stage with the launch of their own hometown festival. With some of the biggest names in EDM history, Skrillex and Zedd joining them for B2B sets, Knock2 and ISOxo aren’t just throwing a festival—they’re making a statement.

The NITEHARTS festival was hinted at earlier this year during ISOKNOCK’s two-day event at Snapdragon Stadium, the same venue that will host NITEHARTS. That event, dubbed “San Diego 4EVR” saw two nights of sold-out crowds. At the close, a QR code referencing the upcoming NITEHARTS festival flashed on screen, and Knock2 proclaimed, “See you next year” before leaving the stage.

Hosting another show in San Diego carries special significance for these artists. It’s the place where they met as teenagers, began producing music, and the city that supported them from the very beginning. With NITEHARTS, they once again shine a spotlight on San Diego and look to further cement their hometown legacy in the process.

(Photo: UCLA Radio)

The lineup for NITEHARTS exemplifies the duo’s meteoric rise. Both artists’ rapid ascent from playing night club shows to headlining EDC together as a mystery act is truly remarkable. The young stars have built a devoted following by merging their innovative trap and bass house sound with some of the most high-energy and electrifying performances in recent memory. With tracks like Knock2’s “Dashstar” and the duo’s “SMACK TALK” becoming festival anthems, their influence is obvious, and their trajectory shows no signs of slowing.

The addition of Skrillex and Zedd to the lineup truly underscores that Knock2 and ISOXO have reached the status of EDM superstars. These globally recognised icons have helped shape the sound of EDM and expanded the reach of dance music over the past decade. Their participation in NITEHARTS as B2B artists proves that ISOKNOCK is no longer just a pair of rising stars.

As Knock2 and ISOxo continue to bring their journey full circle, their story is more than just a rise to fame—it’s a meteoric one.

Lift Off: Same Same But Different 2025

Each September, as the heat lingers just a little longer in Southern California, something begins to stir on the shores of Lake Perris. The winds pick up, the energy shifts, and thousands begin preparing to gather again, not just for a festival, but for an experience.

Same Same But Different has always lived up to its name. It’s not your typical dust-stained desert throwdown. It’s a soulful lakeside retreat—a psychedelic playground where music, nature, and intentionality collide. And this year, from September 26–28, the beloved boutique festival returns with its most immersive experience yet.

What a Lineup!

This year’s lineup is a genre-hopping, energy-raising celebration of sound. Headlining the weekend is a moment many fans have dreamed of: LSZEE, the fusion of LSDREAM and CloZee‘s collaborative project. It’s a pairing destined to open hearts and expand minds under the stars, blending glitchy psychedelia, grounded bass, and transcendent textures in a way that few artists can achieve.

If that wasn’t enough, Zeds Dead is also set to return to the beach with their signature blend of dubstep, deep house, and melodic intensity, sure to rattle the sand beneath your feet. Meanwhile, Dr. Fresch brings the late-night groove to create the perfect soundtrack for dancing barefoot after midnight.

The bill also features rising stars like ALLEYCVT, SoDown, Sam Blacky, Wonky Willa, Polar Bears, Opiuo, and BOOGIE T.RIO, each curating their own pocket of storytelling across the weekend. What unites them isn’t genre—it’s energy. From sunrise yoga to late-night journeys, SSBD’s lineup is less about who’s popular and more about what resonates.

A Venue That Breathes

Set within the stunning expanse of Lake Perris State Park, Same Same But Different offers something that most music festivals don’t: water. Real, swimmable, floatable water—and lots of it.

By day, the beach turns into a floating party as dozens of inflatables surround the shoreline, DJs spin on the sand, and the sun shines across the lake. By night, the entire venue transforms. Pathways glow with LED art installations, and campgrounds erupt with renegade sound camps and storytelling circles. You’re not just attending a concert—you’re stepping into an entirely different reality.

With a capped attendance of around 7,500, the experience remains intimate and intentional. You can find your friends. You can connect with strangers who feel like old friends. You can dance without shoulder-to-shoulder chaos. It’s a vibe that reminds you why you fell in love with festivals in the first place.

Sustainability, Rooted in Action

What truly sets Same Same But Different apart isn’t the lineup or the location—it’s the mission. At the heart of SSBD is a deep respect for the Earth, and the festival’s sustainability efforts are woven into every aspect of the weekend.

SSBD has pledged to become a zero-waste festival by 2029, and their actions speak louder than any press release. Every waste station is staffed by volunteers trained to help you properly sort compost, recycling, and landfill, turning an everyday task into a community effort. In 2024 alone, they diverted more than a ton of recyclable and compostable material from the landfill, including over 800 pounds of aluminum and nearly 300 pounds of plastic.

In partnership with Trees for the Future, every ticket sold helps plant a tree—over 25,000 have already been planted thanks to SSBD’s growing community. It’s not just a party with a conscience, it’s a party that gives back.

Attendees are encouraged to “Leave It Better,” a gentle but powerful ethos echoed across campsites, beaches, and dance floors. Whether you’re picking up someone else’s can or bringing reusable water bottles and cutlery, you’re part of something larger than yourself. A movement. A culture of care.

Camping Is Its Own Adventure

Camping at SSBD is more than a place to crash—it’s where the magic begins. Whether you’re tucked into a shaded grove with friends or parked with your RV overlooking the lake, the campground pulses with creativity and connection. Impromptu jam sessions break out at 2 AM. Lights flicker from makeshift stages. The boundary between festival and campsite blurs completely.

For many, this is where the most memorable moments happen—over shared snacks, sunrise conversations, and starlit laughter with new friends you somehow feel like you’ve always known.

A Final Word Before We Float

Same Same But Different isn’t about the biggest stage or the flashiest pyrotechnics. It’s about the vibe. The realness. The reconnection to music, to community, and to the planet. It’s for the daydreamers, the wanderers, the ones who crave more than just a good lineup—those who crave meaning. With festivals on the rise, attendees search for something that pushes the boundaries and gives them something fresh and unique.

Whether you’re coming for the bass, the beach, or the beautiful humans that make this experience unlike any other, one thing is certain: this is where you’re meant to be.

We’ll see you in the water!

FEMME HOUSE x Deep Tropics: Building Community Through Music & Sustainability

Critically acclaimed as one of the greenest music and arts festivals in the world, Deep Tropics returns to Nashville’s Bicentennial Park on August 15 & 16. The 2025 lineup features some of EDM’s top talent, including headliners Chris Lake, Lane 8, Alison Wonderland, and Subtronics.

Deep Tropics isn’t just about the music—it’s also a hub for sustainability and education. Debuting in 2024, the Sustainability Summit is a pre-festival panel focused on regenerative practices and innovative sustainability initiatives. As the Summit continues to grow, it marks the beginning of a long-term vision to expand Deep Tropics into a full week-long conference leading up to the festival itself.

This year’s Sustainability Summit will be held on Thursday, August 14, at Studio 615 from 6 to 8 PM. Speakers include Geoff Devlin, Madame Gandhi, Rep. Justin Jones, Kristy Drutman, Prince Haru, Tony Cho, and many more.

The sustainability programming continues during the festival weekend with Deep Tropics and FEMME HOUSE partnering to curate two onsite panels that celebrate and uplift both local and global voices in the music industry. These panels not only create space for important conversations but also align directly with Deep Tropics’ mission to build an inclusive and environmentally conscious community.

“At FEMME HOUSE, everything we do is rooted in the power of community,” said HERMIXALOT, Co-Founder and Head of Culture at FEMME HOUSE. “Partnering with Deep Tropics this year is a testament to what’s possible when we unite our voices and visions. Together, we’re not just creating unforgettable experiences. We’re showing how far real change can go when we lift each other up.”

The first panel, “Building Local Community,” takes place on Saturday, August 16 from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. Moderated by RaeCola, it features Nashville-based artists Afrosheen, Girl Friday, and Kiana Nadine, who will share their experiences navigating the industry as femme and non-binary creatives committed to building inclusive spaces in the local scene.

Later that afternoon, FEMME HOUSE joins forces with NOIR FEVER for “Curating the Black Underground,” a panel moderated by Madame Gandhi and featuring powerful voices like Aluna, Ash Lauryn, and RaeCola. The panel will explore reclaiming and recognizing the Black roots of dance music while emphasizing the importance of fostering spaces where artistic freedom and representation thrive.

“We are honored to partner with FEMME HOUSE to help elevate femme, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and gender-diverse artists,” said Joel Atchison, Co-Founder of Deep Tropics. “As Madame Gandhi says, ‘The future is female.’”

For those seeking a sustainable souvenir, stop by the main water station or merch stand to pick up an official FEMME HOUSE x Deep Tropics Nalgene water bottle. Created in collaboration with REVERB and Nalgene USA’s charitable RockNRefill program, these custom bottles are designed to reduce single-use plastic. Proceeds will support FEMME HOUSE, REVERB, and water infrastructure improvements on the festival grounds.

With music, community, and sustainability action at its core, Deep Tropics continues to lead the way in shaping what the future of festivals can look like.
