Hack-A-Shaq In The Mosh Pit On Shaq’s Summer Of Bass 2K24 Tour

Shaquille O’Neal is more than just a four-time NBA champion and three-time NBA Finals MVP. While retired from the court, he stays busy as a sports analyst, and during the offseason, his dubstep alter ego, DJ Diesel, takes center stage. With the basketball season over, it’s time to Hack-a-Shaq in the mosh pit.

DJ Diesel is locked in and touring Europe and North America with his “Shaq’s Summer of Bass 2K24” tour. Just as Shaq was a beast on the court, his mosh pits are equally intense, with heavy-hitting dubstep sets that have become legendary. Don’t be fooled by his big, friendly persona. In one of his mosh pits, the rule is there are no rules. Fans will bang heads, throw elbows, and break necks — all in the name of bass.

DJ Diesel has collaborated with the industry’s biggest names, including Nitti, Level Up, Jessica Audifred, Crankdat, and many more!  You can experience Diesel live on stage at several top venues, including Echostage in Washington, D.C., Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, and the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

Prepare for an extraordinary experience as DJ Diesel brings the heat with his explosive dubstep tour! Stay tuned to Moon Lvnding for more EDM community updates and coverage.

Hardwell Addresses SAGA Festival Before Canceling Live Set

Hardwell addressed the crowd during his set at SAGA Festival, criticizing the production staff and ultimately canceling his performance. The world-renowned Dutch DJ stated, “They didn’t pay me any f***ing money to be here tonight, but I’m still here. I’m still here.” Due to equipment malfunctions that made it impossible for him to perform, Hardwell apologized and decided to cancel his set.

Following Hardwell’s expression of frustration, SAGA Festival issued a counter-statement on social media:

“Well, Hardwell, we’re sorry that Rita Ora, Sickick, Loreen and all the DJs on five other stages got to play on the first day of SAGA and you didn’t. The equipment traveled all the way from the Netherlands, just like you. The same set seems to be working perfectly fine for Will Sparks right now.”

SAGA’s response goes on to state how it has worked tirelessly to curate a special year for both artists and ravers:

“We would’ve solved any technical issues effortlessly and fast, if you would’ve let us and not stopped your set so soon. We’ve done all we could to accommodate your requests, including agreed payments. We’re sorry to (y)our fans. They would have loved to finally watch you perform in Bucharest. Nothing but love, and we wish you well.”

You can read the entire response below:

While the specifics of the incident remain unclear, Hardwell continues to receive support and love from his fans. One fan commented, “You have to be really really REALLY pissed & fed up to publicly say those things. Good on him, hope he gets paid elsewhere.” Another fan wrote, “You know you messed up when Hardwell is pissed…Never seen him this upset.” Fans also pointed out that a characteristic of Hardwell’s sets involves live mixing, speculating that this could have contributed to other performers playing without issue.

Despite the controversy, the event organizers highlighted that all other artists performed without problems. The incident at SAGA Festival has left the community buzzing, eager to see how Hardwell and the festival will move forward from this unexpected turn.

Electric Zoo Finally Initiates Refund Process For 2023 Passes

This week on June 18, 2024, Electric Zoo issued a long-awaited statement regarding the issues that transpired in September 2023. The festival’s exclusive ticketing provider, See Tickets, will process refunds by July 19, 2024. Ticket holders eligible for refunds include:

  1. Friday, September 1, 2023, single or multi-day ticket holders that have not filed a dispute/chargeback, nor previously received a face-value refund (100% for Friday single day ticket holders, 50% for two-day ticket holders, and 33% for three-day ticket holders).
  2. Sunday, September 3, 2023, single or multi-day admission ticket holders who were unable to access the event (as determined by entry scan data), and have not filed a dispute/chargeback, nor previously received a face-value refund (100% for Sunday single day ticket holders; 50% for two-day ticket holders and 33% for three-day ticket holders).

It’s no secret that Randall’s Island Park became a nightmare for festivalgoers last year. Electric Zoo organizers were forced to cancel the first day due to cited supply chain issues that hindered the construction of the main stage. To add to the chaos, they delayed doors on Day 2 and hit capacity early on Day 3, preventing more ticketholders from entering the festival. On Sunday, frustrated attendees stormed the gates. One video by an attendee shows the crowd pushing and shoving their way through metal detectors. According to NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell, roughly 88,000 people attended EZoo, overselling the festival by thousands of tickets.

Photo: Electric Zoo Festival

Avant Gardner, the organizers of Electric Zoo and renowned for their Brooklyn Mirage venue, acquired the festival in 2022 for a reported $15 million. Despite the incident, they expressed remorse and a commitment to improving. In its recent announcement, Avant Gardner wrote, “When we set out to bring you Electric Zoo 2023, our goal was to create a completely leveled-up experience that included new stage concepts, enhanced production, and so much more.” Responses to the announcement remain mixed — Artist 3LAU commented, “It’s been 9 months since the festival, this is absurd. Def never playing again if it even survives (doubtful).”

Amid the September 5, 2023 chaos, New York Mayor Eric Adams stated in an NYPD briefing, “It’s unfortunate organizers wanted to turn our city into a zoo, and we were not going to allow that to happen. We will be dealing with them in the next few days based on their behavior and actions.” The disastrous outcome prompted several class action lawsuits demanding retribution. Attendees seek compensation for the logistical failures and mismanagement that marred the event. As of now, there have yet to be any plans for a return in 2024, leaving the future of Electric Zoo uncertain and casting doubt on whether the festival can recover its reputation and regain the trust of its fans.
