Rusko Returns To Say “Wassup”

Dubstep legend Rusko made his much-anticipated return to release day with his first single in over two years, “Wassup,” which dropped via Monstercat on November 20. Despite the time between singles, Rusko has been anything but quiet. He’s spent the time lighting up stages worldwide, captivating fans with his high-energy antics and dance moves behind the decks.

This track arrives as the first single from his debut Monstercat EP, which is set to drop sometime next year. Nearly a decade ago, the UK-born DJ/producer kindly demanded the world wake the fuck up, and it did! Now he’s back to push even further and prove that the infamous UK sound that made him the icon he is today is still just as powerful.

Rusko shares, “‘Wassup’ was started last year on tour in Australia and ever since, has been a puzzle I couldn’t quite crack and get just right… but it’s always been stuck in my head. After adding ‘Wassup’ into my DJ sets, I had an earth-shattering break-through, and within the first couple of nights spinning the tune, it was finished!”

Renowned for pioneering a distinctive, unforgettable bass sound that’s influenced a wave of artists, “Wassup” delivers a fresh blend of his signature wonk fused with unstoppable drum and bass energy. He continues to be a unique buoy in a sea of generic bass music, as his versatility and personality continue to shine through.

Rusko is now preparing for an appearance at Zombie: Apocalypse in Los Angeles this Thanksgiving weekend and then another epic reunion with fellow bass icon Caspa at Mission Ballroom in Denver on the first Saturday of 2025. These two dubstep OGs will be keen to reunite after going b2b for the first time in eight years at Lost Lands this summer.

“Wassup” offers an exciting first look into his upcoming EP, promising to push his unique sound beyond. Listen to his new single from his upcoming album on streaming platforms today and be sure to follow his socials for all things Rusko!

Zingara New Album ‘For The Crystal Children’ Explores Manifestation And Self-Love

Zingara recently dropped For The Crystal Children EP as a follow-up to her debut album The Code of Dreamz. Known for her signature blend of bass-heavy beats and dream-inspired soundscapes, Zingara’s latest project delves into themes of self-discovery, manifestation, and spiritual healing, capturing her vision of music as a transformative experience.

“When it was time to start brainstorming new ideas, this concept popped into my head,” said Zingara. “The Crystal Children are souls that volunteer to come to Earth to help the collective learn to love and heal.”

This four-track EP draws inspiration from Zingara’s childhood dreams and journey of manifestation and self-discovery. The opening track, “For the Crystal Children,” begins with ethereal themes, as the lyrics describe Crystal Children as enlightened beings on a mission to heal the Earth. As the vocals fade, a deep bassline joins the melody, setting the tone for the rest of the project.

The second track, “Move With the Sound,” features trumpeter Maurice Brown and explores darker themes with a powerful bassline, creating a tribal vibe. The third track, “Shape Shift,” showcases Zingara’s versatility, beginning as a bass house track before transforming into a deeper, wonkier bass sound. Her vocals describe someone being given a drink that causes them to shape shift, evoking euphoria and loosened inhibitions.

The final track, “Rhythm of Life,” features producer Steller and Maurice Brown, offering an otherworldly melody fused with Brown’s jazzy trumpet and the lyrics “Dance to the Rhythm of Life.” This song rounds out the album’s theme of living in the moment and celebrating life in a vibrant, uplifting close.

“The Crystal Children is a concept and belief that our souls have lived many past lives and are currently incarnated onto Earth to gain knowledge, life experiences and act out of love in the present moment,” said Zingara. “The music I created is here to suggest to you to enjoy every emotion that comes with life because you have a long unique journey ahead and only you are in charge of giving yourself permission to let loose, live in the moment, and feel the music that is here to help you do so. It is a reminder to myself and my listeners to allow yourself to be free. Nothing is your fault but everything is your creation so let’s have some fun and celebrate the time we get to share together.”

With the release of her new EP, Zingara has kicked off a North American fall tour running through December 14, with stops in cities she’s never played before. This tour promises captivating, immersive performances with fresh visuals, new music, and a stellar lineup of support artists including Gardella, Sippy, Steller, and Super Future. GG Magree & Kill The Noise Debut Emotional Track “Taste Like Hell”

Boundary-pushing Australian GG Magree and legendary bass producer Kill The Noise unveil their debut collaboration “Taste Like Hell,” just in time for Halloween. The lyrics for this raw allure were inspired by a poem GG had previously written about surrendering to love at the cost of losing oneself. The topline was sent to Kill The Noise who delivered his dark bass magic that resulted in a visceral track as raw as the emotions behind it. The production mirrors the duality of beauty and pain, fusing gritty basslines with heavy metal influences. GG shares:

“Love is intense, it’s whole body consuming and “Taste Like Hell” is a song that embodies that. Originally, the song lyrics came from a poem I wrote on a plane. It’s about giving yourself fully to someone no matter how deeply they ruin you. I have always looked at love as the most addictive drug in the world because when it gets you, there’s almost 0 limitations. You pretty much tether your own madness to someone else’s sanity in order to keep functioning. Jake has always and will forever be one of my favorite producers. When I sent the topline to him, I had a very strong idea of sonically what the song should sound/feel like, and Jake bodied it. We wanted it to feel beautiful but painful, like floating on a cloud full of torture.”

The candid soundscape induces chaos and catharsis, drawing out the feelings of both vulnerability and defiance. This Monstercat Uncaged track “Taste Like Hell” reels listeners into its spell with each drop, capturing the relentless, addictive nature of love. GG Magree’s impressive fusion of punk-rock and bass has propelled her to perform at top festivals and collaborate with some powerhouse names like ATLiens on their recent track “Black Sheep.” Kill The Noise adds:

“Good times writing with GG. Her and I had bounced some ideas around ahead of this particular song. So, we already had some practice in for when she finally sent over the idea for “Taste Like Hell.” We knew what kind of production to go for. I think it took getting out a bunch of different ideas to realize it might be cool to figure out how to balance the heavy-hitting side of bass music with something more brooding and subtle. In the end, we took some extra time to go back and figure out how to do that in a way that felt authentic. Sometimes, the hardest part is having too many good ideas and picking the ones appropriate for the kind of story we wanted to tell.”

If you haven’t gotten a chance to listen, we can confirm that it has been on repeat all morning! “Taste Like Hell” has officially released on Monstercat Uncaged and is now streaming across platforms.

VEIL Drops Debut Single “RESPAWN” From ‘HIGH VOLTAGE’ Album

Anticipation builds for VEIL’S debut album HIGH VOLTAGE which is set to drop on November 22 via VEIL’s bass label Street Release. She recently released a sneak peek with the debut track “RESPAWN.” This single paves the way for what’s to come from her new album, showcasing her talents as a bass artist.

VEIL created a visually and sonically compelling story through her 11-track album. “RESPAWN” gives a first glimpse into the saga of AZAL, a character traveling through a cross-dimensional area known as “THE HOLLOW.” VEIL is a storyteller, using her music and visuals to bring AZAL’s journey to life, exploring a mysterious world where time bends and immense power is discovered.

VEIL’s upcoming tour includes a performance at EDC Orlando on November 8, followed by her official HIGH VOLTAGE album release party at Meow Wolf in Denver, CO, on November 22. Then, she heads to Subtronics’ curated event, Cyclops Cove 3, in Boca Raton, FL, on December 6 – 7.
