GG Magree & Kill The Noise Debut Emotional Track “Taste Like Hell”

Boundary-pushing Australian GG Magree and legendary bass producer Kill The Noise unveil their debut collaboration “Taste Like Hell,” just in time for Halloween. The lyrics for this raw allure were inspired by a poem GG had previously written about surrendering to love at the cost of losing oneself. The topline was sent to Kill The Noise who delivered his dark bass magic that resulted in a visceral track as raw as the emotions behind it. The production mirrors the duality of beauty and pain, fusing gritty basslines with heavy metal influences. GG shares:

“Love is intense, it’s whole body consuming and “Taste Like Hell” is a song that embodies that. Originally, the song lyrics came from a poem I wrote on a plane. It’s about giving yourself fully to someone no matter how deeply they ruin you. I have always looked at love as the most addictive drug in the world because when it gets you, there’s almost 0 limitations. You pretty much tether your own madness to someone else’s sanity in order to keep functioning. Jake has always and will forever be one of my favorite producers. When I sent the topline to him, I had a very strong idea of sonically what the song should sound/feel like, and Jake bodied it. We wanted it to feel beautiful but painful, like floating on a cloud full of torture.”

The candid soundscape induces chaos and catharsis, drawing out the feelings of both vulnerability and defiance. This Monstercat Uncaged track “Taste Like Hell” reels listeners into its spell with each drop, capturing the relentless, addictive nature of love. GG Magree’s impressive fusion of punk-rock and bass has propelled her to perform at top festivals and collaborate with some powerhouse names like ATLiens on their recent track “Black Sheep.” Kill The Noise adds:

“Good times writing with GG. Her and I had bounced some ideas around ahead of this particular song. So, we already had some practice in for when she finally sent over the idea for “Taste Like Hell.” We knew what kind of production to go for. I think it took getting out a bunch of different ideas to realize it might be cool to figure out how to balance the heavy-hitting side of bass music with something more brooding and subtle. In the end, we took some extra time to go back and figure out how to do that in a way that felt authentic. Sometimes, the hardest part is having too many good ideas and picking the ones appropriate for the kind of story we wanted to tell.”

If you haven’t gotten a chance to listen, we can confirm that it has been on repeat all morning! “Taste Like Hell” has officially released on Monstercat Uncaged and is now streaming across platforms.

She recently released a sneak peek with the debut track “RESPAWN.” This single paves the way for what’s to come from her new album, showcasing her talents as a bass artist.

VEIL created a visually and sonically compelling story through her 11-track album. “RESPAWN” gives a first glimpse into the saga of AZAL, a character traveling through a cross-dimensional area known as “THE HOLLOW.” VEIL is a storyteller, using her music and visuals to bring AZAL’s journey to life, exploring a mysterious world where time bends and immense power is discovered.

Reaper Drops Deluxe Version of Acclaimed Album ‘CHALLENGER’

Back in March, international drum & bass icon REAPER dropped his captivating 7-track album, CHALLENGER. Due to the groundbreaking release of his previous DISRUPTOR album followed by the electrifying DISRUPTOR (REMIXES), fans have eagerly awaited an extended version of this new album. REAPER delivered what fans have longed for with his newest release, CHALLENGER (DELUXE).

Fans had a sneak peek into this extended album with the release of two of his latest tracks, “BLOW THE ROOF” with Pirapus in July and “SECONDS” featuring Space Cadet released in August. After the success of these two singles, the remaining tracks on CHALLENGER (DELUXE) look to exceed expectations.

“SURFACING,” the ninth song on CHALLENGER (DELUXE), opens with angelic vocals inviting listeners to “take a breath with me.” Then it dives into a powerful drum & bass drop, later escalating with an even more intense second drop.

The tenth track, “CURRENT,” begins with repeated vocals, slowly building layers of drums and beats that lead into a bass-heavy drop, followed by an even grittier, bass-face-inducing second drop.

The twelfth track, “ROWDY” featuring PERSONA NON GRATA, kicks off with a whispered warning to “back the fuck up,” which is soon joined by hard-hitting drums and guitar. The intensity rises, vocals grow louder with the chant “It’s about to get rowdy,” and a drum & bass drop unleashes an electrifying climactic drop.

Finally, the album closes with a collaboration with AMAGII and TINYKVT, called “WORLDS AWAY.” The song starts with soft, ethereal vocals. Then as the beat gradually intensifies, a techno rhythm comes in, eventually leading to a high-energy drum & bass line that wraps up the album with a thrilling finish.

Solace in Sound: Dive Into San Holo’s Emotional New Single “disappear”

Where do we go from here? To Goldrush on October 4 + 5, 2024 to witness San Holo‘s magical new song “disappear,” of course.

A talented and authentic artist known for his deeply introspective and vulnerable lyrics, San Holo often explores themes of personal reflection and self-discovery while straddling multiple genres, including electronic, future bass, indie, and ambient. What sets him apart from other artists is his unique ability to write and produce emotionally resonant music, masterfully creating a space for his listeners to reflect on their emotions. Released on Shine Light Records, “disappear” is another perfect example of his distinctive but recognizable musical artistry.

Describing the true meaning behind the song, San Holo shared,

“ ‘disappear’ is quite literally about escaping reality and finding solace in your own imagination and memories. This song is for anyone who is feeling lost or overwhelmed by life’s challenges and needing to find a place of peace. I hope this song takes people to a safe space in their mind where they can find peace within themselves”.

Every listener has used music as a safe space at one point or another. San Holo’s music has a particularly special ability to form such mental sanctuaries and “disappear” is a prime example of this refuge from reality. Unlike the physical world, which is frequently changing and disrupting, the world that music builds is within each listener, and therefore untouchable by external forces.

This song encourages listeners to find peace within themselves. Too often, we look outside of ourselves for comfort, whether through relationships, coping mechanisms, or other means of distraction. “disappear” is a reminder that inner peace is always within reach if we learn to sit with our thoughts, memories, and imaginations, offering an opportunity for both personal growth and introspection.

After all, memories are tied to emotions and can provide comfort and strength during difficult times. With music often triggering these memories, “disappear” could be viewed as a sonic getaway to positive and euphoric moments from the past.

With that being said, consider your next opportunity to experience such memories and emotions of your own at his upcoming Goldrush set. Connect with one of the best crowds Arizona has to offer and don’t forget to stop by the Moon Lvnding booth for all of your essential festival needs.
