Mission Success: Decadence Arizona

Although it’s been a couple of weeks since ringing in the New Year, Decadence Arizona has still been buzzing in all of our minds. Relentless Beats truly outdid themselves, putting on one of the best music festivals in AZ history to date. Once again, the festival proved why it remains one of the Southwest’s most anticipated year-end spectacles. As thousands poured into the Phoenix Raceway, the festival transformed the desert into a glowing playground of sound, light, and relentless energy.

Inside Decadence’s Immersive Festival Design

The layout struck a rare balance between scale and flow. Two massive stages anchored the venue with towering LED walls and immersive production that pulled fans in from every angle. Decadence Arizona expanded far beyond its main stages, unfolding like a city built for sound. The Conservatory delivered immersive moments designed for connection, while the Playhouse surged with color, chaos, and nonstop dance energy.

Meanwhile, the Bazaar pulled fans into a sensory detour filled with art, fashion, and flavor. When the intensity peaked, the Quiet Quarters offered space to reset, but don’t be fooled— the silent disco still had the crowd moving at all hours of the night. Together, these environments elevated the festival experience, transforming Decadence into a living, moving landscape of rhythm and escape.

A Roster That Refused to Miss

Although there were many artists worth side questing for, here were some of the favorites worth mentioning.

Day 1

WHETHAN

I have heard a lot about Whethan, and I can easily say he was in the top 3 sets of the festival in my book. His transitions felt cinematic rather than mechanical. It allowed the set to unfold like a story instead of a sequence of tracks. Sweeping synths and layered builds created moments where the entire crowd was absolutely moving. And can we give a quick shoutout to that Richard Finger drop?!

HAMDI

Hamdi delivered one of the weekend’s most infectious performances, blending UK bass weight with undeniable bounce. Another first for me, and I was not disappointed. Each switch-up landed with intention, reminding everyone why his sound thrives on both dancefloor grit and pure fun. As someone who doesn’t stray often from my usual roster, he reminded me why catching a new set/artist can be an eye-opening experience.

MAX STYLER

All I have to say about Max Styler‘s set is: yes. 10/10 would do it again; whatever that man is doing, he’s doing it right.

KAI WACHI B2B SULLIVAN KING

I’ve seen both of these gentlemen many, many times—and each time is better than the last. Kai Wachi b2b Sullivan King unleashed one of the most aggressive and crazy sets of the festival. The duo fused metal intensity with bass brutality, creating a sonic assault that felt both theatrical and raw. Each drop landed like a hammer, yet the chemistry between them kept the chaos sharp and controlled. Whether you want to re-live the chaos or catch up on what you missed, their entire set is now live on YouTube.

Day 2

VOYD

Starting with my favorite set from both days, I can confidently say there is nothing that compares to any show SVDDEN DEATH puts on. But VOYD? That set lives rent-free in my head still to this day. It became almost an immediate statement piece for the weekend. The visuals alone are incomparable to any other artist on the planet. His signature dark aesthetic swallowed the stage whole, pairing guttural bass with apocalyptic visuals that felt ripped from another dimension. VOYD sent shockwaves through the crowd, establishing an early benchmark for intensity—not to mention the gigantic wall of death that I couldn’t even see the end of. I know there is a big debate on his sets being “scary”, but to anyone who is wavering on that fence: try it once. If you don’t like it, you can always catch a different set!

PHRVA

Phrva has been on my list to see since his Espresso flip back in 2024. Not only did that day finally arrive, but I also got to witness the flip live in person. Monumental moment for me, I must say! Rather than overwhelm, he curated space, letting each drop breathe and hit with intention. The crowd locked into his hypnotic flow as he balanced weight and groove with sharp rhythmic control. I solemnly swear to never miss a Phrva set from this day forward.

TAPE B

Yo Tape B! That was a wonky set! Blending dubstep grit with unexpected throwbacks and vocal flips, he kept the crowd guessing while staying locked into a cohesive groove. The set moved effortlessly between heavy and playful, never sacrificing pacing or crowd control. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever be done ranting about that man.

SUBTRONICS

If you know me, you know how hard I will always go for Subtronics. His production skills are unparalleled; if Subtronics is playing at something I’m attending, I will always be there. Flipping between warped sound design, cartoonish flair, and earth-shaking drops, the crowd couldn’t help but fully surrender to the madness. Give me weird music, that’s what I want; we love some wonky ass music!

Where the Magic Hit Hardest

Now for the defining moment of the weekend: GRiZ‘s New Year’s countdown set. I knew there was going to be a sea of people, but man, did the Decadence crowd show up. As the clock ticked toward midnight, you could feel the anticipation that rippled through the crowd. When the drop aligned with the turn of the year, pyro errupted and giant balloons drifted down onto the crowd as GRiZ dropped the best part of Innerbloom by RÜFÜS DU SOL. That’s right, you know the part I’m referring to.

Magical doesn’t even begin to describe that moment. It was such a euphoric experience, where everyone’s soul connected and felt like a shared exhale. Seeing the pure happiness on everyone’s faces around me reminded me of why I love what I do. Easily one of the best moments of my entire 28 years of being on this earth. The feeling was truly indescribable in the best way.

The Countdown Ensues

Beyond the music, Decadence Arizona shone in its attention to experience. Vendor villages and lounge pockets gave attendees space to recharge without stepping too far from the action. Hydration stations, clear signage, and efficient entry points kept the weekend running smoothly from start to finish. Moreover, the crowd itself added to the magic. From decked-out rave fits to glitter-covered countdown crews, Decadence once again cultivated a space where expression felt encouraged and celebrated.

In the end, Decadence AZ didn’t just close out the year—it launched the next one with authority. With genre-spanning performances and a countdown that will live rent-free in memories for years, the festival delivered on every front. Mission accomplished, Arizona. The bar has officially been raised for New Year’s, and the countdown to Decadence 2026 has already begun.

Of The Trees Comes Clean With “Dolori” And ‘Moonglade Park’

If you’ve been keeping up with Of The Trees, then you know something big is coming. After wiping his socials and linking a new website across his profiles and stories, he returns with his first solo single in almost two years. “Dolori” is his first look into his highly anticipated forthcoming album, Moonglade Park. Fans have been waiting for this track for a couple of years now, since it was most notably played during Of The Trees’ debut Electric Forest set and during his closing performance at his own multi-day event, Camp Alderwild. Check out the track below to step into the newest place to chill, Moonglade Park.

“Dolori” sets an emotional tone for Moonglade Park, transcending listeners through a spiritual and sonic journey. Goosebumps are an inevitable byproduct of this track, as the deep yet soft percussive bass layers with hypnotic vocals, ambient textures, and introspective sound design. Each bassline sends waves of emotion as Of The Trees consistently excels at landing at the intersection of nature, sound, and story.

Set across a series of diverse natural environments, his music video reflects the landscapes that inspired the forthcoming album and underscores the organic relationship between the music and the world that shaped it. The visuals move back and forth between a dancer immersed in a lush forest surrounded by colorful flowers, atmospheric scenes in the desert, rain-soaked moments in the forest, and firelit scenes where she dances outside beside a hauntingly beautiful flame.

Rather than following a linear path, the video flows intuitively between these settings, mirroring the track itself. Throughout, the dancer reaches what can only be described as a flow state, staying deeply in tune with the bass and the natural world surrounding her. Of The Trees directed fans to “Visit moongladepark.com,” offering an invitation into the world of Moonglade Park.

This release of “Dolori” is our first dip into the waters of Moonglade Park, Of The Trees’ long-awaited full-length album, filled with genre-defying tracks that blend downtempo electronica, cinematic ambient, and experimental hip-hop. Drawing inspiration from iconic albums such as Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and Led Zeppelin’s Houses of the Holy, this LP is meant to be experienced in full, with the intention to slow down, reflect, and reconnect, especially in times of great uncertainty when hope is most needed. Check back for full coverage of the album as it drops, and don’t forget to keep up with all things Of The Trees at the links below.

The Duo Returns: Super Future & Wreckno Drop ‘ASS THROWERS ANONYMOUS’

Everyone loves a Super Future and Wreckno collaboration, and this time, it’s not just a single or SoundCloud mix. Today, we’ve been blessed with a full EP! With six highly anticipated tracks, including “BABY,” “YES,” and “LUNCH,” this new EP, ASS THROWERS ANONYMOUS, solidifies their collaboration as more than a side project; instead, it’s a true creative partnership!

“Now that the EP is coming around, it’s crazy to think that we’ve been writing and re-writing these tracks between our solo endeavors,” said Super Future. “Some of these tracks are very fresh new ideas, but a couple have been reformatted a bit like since 2022-ish, actually. By this point though, we feel like we’ve solidified our solo careers enough to get back to the fun vibes with no boundaries or real rules and do THIS.”

“This honestly just represents the fun that we wanna have outside our own projects and I think that honest creativity is felt in these tracks. We pretty much always take it back to “does this fit the vibe of that first iconic mix we did?” Even as times and tastes change in the scene, pure fun trap/twerk/bass/house/whatever still feels undeniably fun anywhere you are.”

As always, Super Future and Wreckno continue to keep things fresh by bringing a strong sense of variety to their releases. The ASS THROWERS ANONYMOUS EP perfectly encapsulates their ability to transcend genres, blending house-infused beats with bass-forward production, layered with Wreckno’s unmistakable vocal presence and unapologetic attitude. It unfolds as a showcase of Super Future and Wreckno’s range, with three tracks already familiar to fans.

Previously released cuts like “LUNCH”, “BABY!” and “YES!” each highlight a different side of their chemistry, moving from playful swagger to bold, high-energy moments and cheeky, dancefloor-ready confidence. The remaining tracks push things further, with “WEEKENDS” channeling Wreckno’s signature attitude over Super Future’s funky bass. “BANG!” leans more into a trap-inspired sound packed with bass-face-worthy sound design, and “SIGNAL VIP” delivers heavy bass. While all of their releases have been hits, this project stands as a true testament to the growth both artists have made in their careers, setting the tone for future collaborations.

“I think the beautiful thing about ATA is that it’s a passion project between two friends who just love each other and have the ability to tap back into it whenever we decide to,” said Wreckno. “We came, we popped off in 2019, then we focused on our solo careers! I’m so grateful we came back together in big ole 2026 to release our second collaborative body of work. I still love the first EP, but listening to the second EP, I can hear the years of growth on both ends. Nick’s production has leveled up even more, which is crazy because it’s always been great. My writing and vocal abilities have also gotten a lot better. It just feels like a fully realized version of what we were aiming for in 2019. Feels very special!”

Beyond the music, Super Future and Wreckno have gone above and beyond in executing their shared mission of creating safe and inclusive spaces that promote individuality and community. Wreckno stands as one of electronic music’s most visible queer voices, while Super Future continues pushing the boundaries of modern bass, culminating in a project that reflects the trajectory of a more open, collaborative genre rooted in self-expression.

This new EP kicks off an exciting year for both Super Future and Wreckno as they prepare for major performances, including their Mission Ballroom debut on Valentine’s Day. Both artists will play individual sets, followed by a B2B ASS THROWERS ANONYMOUS joint performance. Check out their socials below to make sure you don’t miss a chance to catch them live!

Mission Success: 2025 Apocalypse Zombieland

For the third year, zombies took over Apocalypse: Zombieland. Brain-eating zombies were defeated by two relentless days of heavy bass, dubstep, riddim, and drum and bass on November 28-29, 2025. The non-stop headbanging and mosh pits made Apocalypse: Zombieland a Mission Success!

The Queen Mary Waterfront was transformed into a world in ruins, with graffiti-painted shipping containers, a wrecked semi-truck, eerie lighting, and pyro galore. Apocalypse: Zombieland featured four distinct themed stages: Apocalypse Arena, Zombieland Citadel, Quarantine Zone, and Necropolis District—each with its unique personality. The main stage, Apocalypse Arena, was upgraded to feature a massive zombie head with scanning eyes. The hard-hitting lineup included over 80 artists, with sets from NERO, Zomboy, Wooli, Ganja White Night, NGHTMRE, and ATLiens, among many others!

At the main stage, Apocalypse Arena, the colossal illuminated zombie head served as a terrifying and awe-inspiring focal point. This was the place for the biggest sound, stunning visuals, fireworks, and massive pyrotechnics. Fans immersed themselves in heavy-hitting dubstep, mainstream bass, and melodic closers, getting lost in the mosh pits and headbanging to sets by Illenium, Excision, LAYZ, and more!

Next, fans could get down and gritty at Zombieland Citadel (The Gritty Fortress), which was designed as a decaying fortress turned chaotic. The atmosphere here was raw and full-throttle, emphasizing high-energy sets of gritty dubstep, hybrid trap, riddim, and experimental bass. Prominent names such as FuntCase B2B Midnight Tyrannosaurus, and BARELY ALIVE threw down!

Quarantine Zone (The Drum & Bass Sanctuary) featured a non-stop, infectious energy that kept the crowd dancing all day. This stage was dedicated to pure drum and bass, with artists like Andy C, Netsky, and Koven delivering high-speed beats that electrified the audience.

Last but not least, there was the Necropolis District (The Dark Industrial Hub), designed as a crossover stage built between industrial shipping containers and structures. It provided a darker, more underground feel, perfect for exploring the more chaotic and experimental side of bass music. This stage featured riddim, dark dubstep, tear-out, and experimental bass, hosting fast-rising underground acts like Eprom, Gentlemen’s Club, and Benda B2B OG Nixin, among others.

Everything about Apocalypse: Zombieland was what it needed to be, and tickets for next year are on sale now. General admission tickets start at $139.99. VIP tickets start at $289.99 for the Summer of the Living Dead, taking over the Queen Mary at Long Beach on June 19 and 20.

Mission Success: DUSK Music Festival

DUSK Music Festival 2025 took over downtown Tucson this past weekend, delivering a full-spectrum festival experience fans won’t soon forget. This weekend wasn’t just about the music—it delivered immersive art, interactive installations, and culinary creativity. Collaborations with the University of Arizona’s School of Art and Tucson ARTS brought sculptures, lighting, and digital works to life. Festival-goers explored paintings of each artist and discovered playful surprises like the portal “Porto Potty” stage, adding whimsical energy to the weekend.

The Immersive World of DUSK

Walking through the festival felt like moving through living artwork. Multiple open-air stages strategically placed throughout Jácome Plaza made navigating the festival effortless. Hidden stages, photo-ops, and activity zones ensured exploration rewarded fans with unique experiences. It created memories far beyond the music. Lines flowed smoothly, and stages offered varying vibes—from high-energy drops at Presidio Stage to intimate moments at lesser-known nooks. After-parties carried the festival energy late into the night, turning intimate venues into dance-fueled extensions of the main event. Fans left exhausted but elated, fully immersed in the city’s festival culture.

Final Impressions

DUSK Music Festival 2025 will be one I forever hold close to my heart. It proved why it’s more than just a festival, but an experience. It unfolded in every corner, but the community is what made it so special. I arrived ready for a weekend of bass and beats, and left with new stories, fresh favorites, and a deeper appreciation for how a festival can spark connection.

Walking through the plaza felt like stepping into a living, breathing world—sound, color, and energy intertwined at every turn. Fans moved through immersive visuals, wandered between glowing lights, and discovered moments that made the weekend feel both personal and larger-than-life. Mission Success: Escape Psycho Circus 2025

As the clock struck midnight, the haunting winds of Halloween weekend swept through the NOS Event Center, transforming it into a surreal landscape of terror and exhilaration! The Escape Psycho Circus brought thrill-seekers, outcasts, and lovers of the macabre to embrace the chaos within its haunted gates. The night promised not just a show but an unforgettable plunge into a realm where fear and fantasy intertwined, and boy, did it deliver on that promise! Escape Psycho Circus was a Mission Success: all treats and no tricks!

Walking through the ominous entrance was like stepping into a ghostly realm. The atmosphere was electric, pulsing with a thrilling blend of excitement and dread. Five haunting stages awaited, each designed to captivate and mesmerize. The very first stop, the Big Top, set the tone for the evening. This iconic stage vibrated with exhilarating sets that echoed through the night, featuring Marshmellow B2B DJ Snake, Deorro, Sidepiece, and Dimitri Vegas.

Among the unforgettable stages was  Sewer District, a hidden enclave pulsing with pyrotechnic eruptions and lasers that lit up the night sky. Another standout feature of Sewer District was the drone light shows oozing into the night sky. This was the place to be, especially when San Holo delivered an unforgettable Wholesome Riddim set. Jessica Audifred whipped the mosh pits into a frenzy, while Nghtmre B2B Peekaboo offered spine-tingling sets that perfectly balanced eerie charm and high-energy beats. As ghosts and ghouls roamed, ATLiens turned heads in their outrageous blow-up bikini costumes. Every performance left attendees breathless, each as chilling as the night air.

The chaos continued to surge through the night, particularly at the Feeding Grounds stage. A single misstep could land you front row with hard-hitting sets from Angerfist, Kayzo, and Dual Damage. The frenetic energy enveloped the crowd, transforming them into erratic prey caught in the crossfire of explosive beats that made hearts race and adrenaline spike. This primal experience unraveled like an untamed beast, all bodies moving as one.

Navigating to The Cage, the uninhibited essence of the underground scene took over. Airrica, Amelie Lens, and Vintage Culture ignited absolute mayhem, their techno beats ripping through the air and captivating the audience. Here, the outcasts of the circus found peace in the shadows. The scorched grounds beneath our feet were a fortress for anarchy.

The clock ticked on and on, except at the Warehouse, where circus history was frozen. Haunting performances from Rossy B2B Pauline Herr, Jawns, and What So Not left the crowd possessed in the once-abandoned storehouse.

Mission Success: NERO At The Church

NERO couldn’t stay away from Denver for too long. They returned this past weekend to take over The Church courtesy of BASSRUSH. This was the perfect venue for the dark and cinematic music that has defined their legacy for nearly two decades. It’s been just a year since the trio treated the Bass Capital to a rare live performance at the Ogden following the release of their third album, Into the Unknown. This time, they opted for a full-throttle DJ set, and Denver showed up in force.

Local talent set the tone early. Jetset opened the night with a smooth run of liquid drum & bass, warming the room with rolling percussion. Dissolves followed, flipping the energy into a heavier gear as he fired through a mix of classic and contemporary dubstep. This sent the first waves of headbangers into motion. By the time NERO took over the decks, The Church was packed shoulder-to-shoulder from the booth to the back wall.

The crowd itself was a testament to NERO’s cross-generational appeal. Longtime fans who’ve followed the group since their Welcome Reality era were interspersed with younger bassheads in INZO and Ganja White Night jerseys. A blend of nostalgia and fresh energy that perfectly matched the night’s vibe.

With twenty years of drum & bass and dubstep in their arsenal, NERO delivered exactly the kind of genre-blending set fans hoped for. They kicked off their set with their thunderous RL Grime collaboration “Renegade,” which set the tone immediately. What followed was a curated journey through their catalogue. They weaved standout cuts from Into the Unknown with the hits from Welcome Reality and Between II Worlds.

Flux Pavilion’s remix of “Must Be The Feeling”

In addition to their hits, NERO also played some other gems, including Taiki Nulight’s rework of “Innocence,” Flux Pavilion’s iconic remix of “Must Be The Feeling,” and their 2017 collaboration with ZHU, “Dreams.” When the opening notes of “Promises” rang out to close the night, the entire room erupted into a full sing-along.

The production elevated the experience even further. Insane laser beams cut through well-timed CO2 blasts while the Void sound system delivered every bassline and snare hit with crystal clarity.

Every NERO set is always an experience, whether it’s live or a DJ set. Catch them at one of their remaining tour dates and at Apocalypse Zombieland. Keep up with everything they’ve got going on by using the social links below.

Mersiv Making Waves On Audiosphere Tour

Champion of Pretty Dark Loud music, Mersiv has been on a roll in 2025! On April 4, he released his new seven-track album 444 to widespread fan support. April 4 was also the day of his Attack On Mars Red Rocks show, where he debuted the Audiosphere. The Audiosphere is a collaborative project with AKA Event Production to create an immersive audio experience that surrounds the venue with 360 sounds using an array of speakers. For a more detailed description of the tech, check out Mersiv’s reel.

Lucky for Mersiv fans, he was able to adapt the same Audiosphere technology used at Red Rocks for a North American tour this fall. With two shows already in the books, Mersiv is back on the road this Friday, November 14 in Minneapolis and on November 15 in Chicago. After this weekend, he’s still got another eight tour dates over the next six weekends through December 20.

Moon Lvnding was privileged to attend his Audiosphere Tour debut in Brooklyn to check out the innovative sound technology and talented bass artists. The support for Mersiv’s show at Industry City was outstanding!

Mystic Methods was a new name for me, and I was quite impressed by the duo’s performance. They each wore neon light masks with slightly different designs and humorously held up a dry-erase board with messages throughout the set. People were engaged and getting down. The good vibes continued with Dennett, fresh off a stacked summer festival run. He played a good mix of originals, remixes, and dubstep classics to keep the crowd moving.

As the main attraction, Mersiv shone brightly. His new tunes from the 444 album sounded great incorporated into the new set. “Dawn” really stood out for me. Even more eye-catching was how the lighting visuals were incorporated into the 360 speaker setup for the Audiosphere. With a view from the elevated green room, one could clearly see waves of color changing all around the venue as Mersiv and the lighting tech used the dynamic 360 setup.

The sound, on the other hand, was a bit hit or miss depending on your spot in the Audiosphere. While the event space had an eight-speaker array setup fully around the venue, the space was more rectangular than square. There were spots with great sound from either side of the room, giving that full surround sound experience as was intended. But toward the sides, the sound felt a bit imbalanced. All that being said, The Audiosphere Tour has an innovative new sound design that creates a fun live show. I’m sure with more time and experience deploying the sound technology, the sound quality and production will improve even more.

With all the tour stuff going on, Mersiv still had time to make literal waves while on board EDSEA this November. From what he shared on social media, it sounds like he had a great time performing at Insomniac’s EDM cruise event. Then, once the tour wraps up, Mersiv has a few dates booked to ring in the new year, including a performance at Eternal NYE in Orlando on December 30 and To The Future NYE in Nashville on December 31. To keep up with all the latest announcements and new music from Mersiv, be sure to check him out on his socials below.

Cool Customer Unveils New EP ‘Thank You For Holding’

After teasing fans with two new releases, “The MF” and “Peppermint,” at the beginning of October, fans have been anxious for another full project from Cool Customer. Well, he just delivered his new EP, Thank You For Holding. With five tracks, including the two singles, the EP showcases Cool Customer’s signature groovy, glitch-hop vibe as a pioneer in experimental bass. Blending distorted textures, nostalgic flips, and hip-hop influence, the project brings out the core of Cool Customer’s style: a mix of weird and heavy, of playful and precise.

I can’t wait to release this one,” said Cool Customer. “It’s been a while since I’ve shared an extended body of work, and creating this five-track EP was an extremely challenging and personal journey. I included some brand-new songs, plus a few tunes from both of my ‘Customer Service’ mixes. This one really means a lot to me.

The EP opens with “Say What,” a glitchy experimental bass track with a groovy bassline and a fun sample that drops in an old instruction manual video. “The MF” comes next with a chill, groovy intro that flips into a hard-hitting drop with the “The MF” lyric before settling into a more atmospheric ending. “Peppermint” leans into a heavier sound with layered distortion and an ending that feels almost sinister, especially with the peppermint patty sample mixed in.

“Hunky Dory” brings in another heavy bass cut made to get the dance floor moving weirdly. The final track, the EP’s namesake, brings a more upbeat vibe and closes the project in a way that feels complete and satisfying.

Thank You For Holding arrives on the heels of two huge moments in his career, including supporting Tape B’s debut at Red Rocks in October and making his own debut at Griz’s sold-out Seven Stars Festival. He will also join tour dates on national tours for Tape B and OPIUO through the end of 2025.

Fans can catch the new EP live as Cool Customer heads out for a fall run of shows. He will hit Roadrunner in Boston on November 14, Believe Music Hall in Atlanta on December 6, The Warfield in San Francisco on December 12, BSideLA in Los Angeles on December 13, and Eternal NYE in Orlando on December 31.
