Kill The Noise Returns With Masterpiece ‘HOLLOW WORLD’

EDM veteran Kill The Noise is back in a big way, releasing his third studio album HOLLOW WORLD today, August 25, 2023, on Ophelia Records. The album is a modern-day masterpiece, encompassing a wide range of EDM genres while examining the depth of the human spirit. Kill The Noise even teamed up with Adult Swim animators Augenblick Studios to create violent visualizers to accompany the audio tracks on Kill The Noise’s YouTube page.

Kill The Noise has over a decade of experience under his belt, breaking into the scene with some notable releases on Skrillex’s OWSLA label and collaborating with marquee names like Deadmau5, Wiz Khalifa, and Skrillex himself on the breakthrough album Bangarang. On this latest album, Kill The Noise taps into his musical creativity to deliver some delightful new tracks.

The album begins with a melodic guitar riff reminiscent of classic Led Zeppelin that leads right into one of the heaviest bass songs “Ultraviolent” with Shadow Cliq. Both the third track “Afraid Of The Dark” and the final track “Give Out” are two of my favorites, featuring well-known voices in the EDM scene – Karra on the former and HALIENE on the latter. Both songs feel like modern melodic dubstep classics, with catchy vocals and sharp bass production.

Another song that really stands out is “Circles,” which I can best describe as an angry video game yelling out random geometric shapes. For those listening carefully, they can hear the mention of an icosahedron, which many EDM fans would recognize as the 20-sided shape that serves as Odesza’s logo. “I LUV YOU” is a peppy hardstyle track that uses the voice of Kill The Noise’s son to set the tone of the track and “Broken Panes” channels that old OWSLA spirit into a hard-hitting bass track.

“The album delves deep into the complexities of the human spirit, revealing our virtues and vices. It uncovers the truth about our potential for change, whether it manifests as enlightenment or a descent into darkness,” explains Kill The Noise. “HOLLOW WORLD serves as the backdrop for these emotional struggles and changes. Within its realm, these transformations materialize, morphing individuals into monstrous beings or transcendent figures. The journey of introspection becomes a courageous act, as some are fearful of confronting their inner selves, while others dare to embark on the path of self-discovery.”

Having listened to Kill The Noise over the years, this album HOLLOW WORLD is truly a work of art, influenced by his years of experience and his boldness to create music without limitations or boundaries. To conclude, here is the outro on his final track that came off as honest, meaningful encouragement to his fans, “No matter what you believe, whether you’re here for a reason or you’re here for no reason, you’re fucking here and you only got a certain amount of time.”

Make the most of it and listen to this album!

All ‘EYES’ on Chet Porter

After taking a few years away from releasing new music, Chet Porter is back in a big way to wrap up 2023. The talented Toronto-based DJ/producer has already dropped four new tunes over the past few months ahead of his debut album release later this fall.

In addition to all the original songs coming our way, Porter is also bringing his new and unreleased music out on tour, starting with a rooftop sunset appearance tonight, August 10, at Brooklyn’s beloved multi-genre music venue and art space, Elsewhere. For those out in the Rockies, Porter is playing another rooftop in Denver, CO for a poolside afternoon show on September 9. These stops lead up to the main event, Porter’s headlining show in Los Angeles, CA where he will debut his new audio/visual performance for his forthcoming album, EYES (“Everything You’ve Ever Seen”).

For those familiar with Porter’s ethereal-sounding music, his new songs feel like a fresh update from where he left off during the pandemic. However, the music is only half the story, as Porter has put an emphasis on complementing his music with visualizers, like this nature-themed lyric video he produced for his new track “Nowhere” with Pauline Herr.

If the rest of the EYES album is anything like the first few songs that have been released, it is surely going to be a work of art to be enjoyed for years to come. To keep up with Chet Porter and all the news leading up to his debut album, use the links below.

ALRT Succeeds At Showcasing His ‘Multiplicity’

DJ/producer ALRT released his second album Multiplicity last Friday, July 14 on NRG Records and it is packed with 15 tracks that showcase his diverse production styles. The thoughtful ordering of the tracks is a testament to ALRT’s growth and evolution as an EDM producer, providing a breath of fresh air in an industry that can sound a bit stale.

The album starts with a cinematic intro that sets the mood for the album, before two high-energy bass house tracks, “Familia” and “New Hope” which are chock full of party energy. The next track, “City,” dips into tech house and captures the feeling of big-city nightlife.

ALRT taps into his Israeli-born roots on “Run It Up,” which features brass horns and gives off the exotic feel of the Middle East. Then the next two tracks, “One Time” and “Make You Move” feel like they are ready to be played out at the club to get the crowd moving. The tech house vibes are alive and well on these two.

“Through The Fire” and “Never” are emblematic of ALRT’s multiplicity when it comes to the evolution of his music production, as he leans into UK garage influences and soulful vocals. “Too Hot” might be the pinnacle of the album, brimming with bass house beats and slick pace changes to keep listeners on their toes, while the next track “Air Drums” keeps the high energy going.

Track 13 titled “Mother” is, in fact, a tribute to his family, using voice samples of his wife and child as he creates a sweet-sounding tune in his new role as a husband and father. ALRT rounds out the album with the experimental sounds of “High Status” and the trance-inspired “1985” which is the perfect way to end the sonic exploration of Multiplicity with a soothing tune.

Listening to the album all the way through from front to back, one gets a good sense of the time and attention ALRT gave to crafting an album that explores the endless possibilities of EDM. He’s got some great high-energy, dancefloor-ready tunes and weaves them seamlessly into more ethereal and heartfelt tracks at the end of the album. Riot Ten And Jessica Audiffred Go Hard On “Dale”

Don’t miss this new track “Dale” from bass music veterans Riot Ten and Jessica Audiffred on Bassrush Records. These two are no strangers to producing festival heaters together, and their most recent track once again brings the bass.

San Antonio-based producer Riot Ten knows what it takes to get a crowd going. His hit song “Rail Breaker” has been played at almost every show over the past five years, and it’s not going away anytime soon. Alongside is Mexico City native Jessica Audiffred, and this duo taps into their Latin sounds with a catchy trumpet and snare drum rhythm. Also featured on the track is vocalist Blvkstn, who comes in hard with some bars, raising the energy into the first drop, and providing a mind-melting bassline that is sure to keep the speakers thumping.

The second drop comes with the same warning. The heart-pounding, foot-stomping, hardstyle bass kick is guaranteed to get fists pumping and heads banging. And just when it seems that the song can’t go any harder, they switch it up into a neck-breaking, finger-gun blasting drop that words just don’t do justice.

https://open.spotify.com/track/5W7s8j8GWNSAyHl4D0F8ab?si=759b44506d7b4ece

This track will be played all over the world as DJs add this bass banger to their sets. The high-energy beat is something that will get everyone moving, so stretch it out, crack your knuckles, and get ready to hear “Dale” blasting through some speakers.

ALLIESUN And Dyce Ring The “Sirens”

“Sirens,” the fresh collaboration from ALLIESUN and Dyce that dropped today, July 14, on Diverge Records, brings the heat. The bass can be felt throughout one’s body while the kicks and snares keep the listener bouncing. The track is titled “Sirens” because throughout the song there are vocals of a dispatch call followed by the faint sound of actual police sirens. It will get the heart pumping as if the cops are looking for you!

Dyce and ALLIESUN have done an amazing job creating a soundscape that creates an adrenaline rush. This isn’t their first rodeo either; they previously worked together on the track “Manifest,” also on Diverge Records.

Dyce hails from the scorching Las Vegas desert, where he works with major artists like Dr. Fresch, Bijou, and Drezo. Over the last few years, he has dropped tracks on many different labels, including House Call Records and 40 Oz Cult. Prior to the release of “Sirens”, he dropped a collab with Arizona local, HONÜ. His track “WOAH” is close to 60,000 streams, which is a testament to his hard work behind the scenes.

Despite his success, Dyce keeps his identity anonymous by wearing a gas mask during his live performances. When asked about his anon status, he replied, “I’ve seen a lot of big artists say the whole masked DJ thing is kind of tacky, but honestly I don’t care, it’s me. I like the way the gas mask looks and it kind of ties in when I first started the project while I was in the military. Plus I like the shock factor when people first land on my page and see a gas mask. Not a lot of people can really pull off the look. But you will be seeing this project transition as we progress through the years.”

ALLIESUN is a 23-year-old ray of sunshine making groovy beats in Los Angeles. She is emerging in the EDM scene with her detailed songs. She is thoughtfully crafting an intricate discography that embodies her distinctive sounds. ALLIESUN’s more notable tracks are “GO” and “Destruction” which capture the essence of her unique production style.

Speaking with us about the challenges she faces in a male-dominated, ALLIESUN said, “The toughest challenge I have faced so far would be the struggle to be taken seriously by other male producers. In a lot of spaces as a woman, I feel like the way I look can have so much more value to men in this industry rather than my creative capacity or direction, or will make it so much harder to be taken seriously as a musician and not just a model.”

ALLIESUN continued, “Thankfully I have so many amazing friends and work with such great artists that support me and I support them! I also work at GRL GANG, which is a collective for women and non-binary folk in the EDM space. It is so important to me to continue pushing for equality for women, non-binary people, the LBGTQ+ community, and people of color in our music industry.”

Check out more of their music below and be sure to follow them on social media to know what they’re up to next!
