For the fourth year, documented evidence of advanced headbanging and brain-eating zombies has emerged. Over June 19 + 20, unrest and mayhem spread through Southern California, once again proving that the day can be saved by headbanging, rail-riding, and neck-breaking. Inzomniacs packed their survival kits and managed to fend off the zombies with nothing but gritty beats, filthy mosh pits, and mind-melting bass. The Zombie Apocalypse was a Mission Success!

Brain-eating zombies were defeated after two relentless days filled with heavy bass, dubstep, riddim, and drum and bass. The stacked lineup was heavy enough to prevent a zombie takeover, featuring hard-hitting DJs such as Skull Machine (Black Tiger Sex Machine b2b Kai Wachi), Calcium, S.Y.N, Hvdes, and many more. The Queen Mary Waterfront was transformed into a post-apocalyptic world, complete with graffiti-painted shipping containers, a wrecked semi-truck, eerie lighting, and plenty of pyrotechnics. The Zombie Apocalypse showcased four distinct themed stages: Apocalypse Arena, Zombieland Citadel, Quarantine Zone, and Necropolis District.

At the main stage, Apocalypse Arena, a colossal illuminated zombie head, served as a terrifying and awe-inspiring focal point. This area was home to the biggest sounds, stunning visuals, fireworks, and massive pyrotechnics. Fans immersed themselves in heavy-hitting dubstep, mainstream bass, and melodic closers, getting lost in the mosh pits and headbanging to sets by Level Up, Alleycvt b2b Levity, Zomboy, Phrva, and more! The ground was definitely shaking all night long. There was no way the undead stood a chance.

Fans could also get down and gritty at Zombieland Citadel, designed as a decaying fortress in chaos. With an upgraded shaded area that made all the difference, the atmosphere here was raw and full-throttle, featuring high-energy sets of gritty dubstep, hybrid trap, riddim, and experimental bass. It was one heavy set after another, highlighted by performances from Zingara, Hvdes, Hol!, and Caspa b2b Peekaboo.

Quarantine Zone brought non-stop, infectious energy that kept the crowd dancing all day. This stage was dedicated to pure drum and bass, with artists like Pendulum, Metrik, and Muzz delivering high-speed beats that electrified the audience and helped save the world.

Finally, the Necropolis District served as a crossover stage built between industrial shipping containers and structures, providing a darker, more underground feel. This stage highlighted the chaotic, experimental side of bass music, featuring riddim, dark dubstep, tear-out, and experimental bass, and showcasing fast-rising underground DJs like Distinct Motive, Contra, and Fieldz b2b Ophion.

The party didn’t stop when the sun went down. Brains weren’t melted enough, and headbanging continued until sunrise, all aboard the Queen Mary, where three different stages hosted afterparties. What’s one thing that defeats the walking dead? Pure bass vibrating through the speakers, and that is exactly what happened at the afters, with performances from Eazybaked, Alleycvt, and Vicky B.
