Zombies are taking over Southern California once again as Zombie Apocalypse returns for its fourth year. We’ve got your official Launch Guide for SoCal’s biggest bass festival, which returns to the Queen Mary in Long Beach on June 19th-20th. They’re bringing a stacked lineup heavy enough to prevent a zombie takeover. The lineup features hard-hitting DJs such as Skull Machine (Black Tiger Sex Machine b2b Kai Wachi), Calcium, S.Y.N, Hvdes, and many more! With so much chaos to explore, we’ve broken down some survival tips for the weekend.
Parking & Shuttles
Arrive early and stay hydrated from the beginning. Everyone must shuttle in from the parking lot/Uber drop-off, which can take time. Be ready to meet others of your survival crew while waiting for the shuttles.
The Stages
This year, Zombie Apocalypse expands to four stages: Apocalypse Arena, Zombieland Citadel, Necropolis District, and Quarantine Zone. Each offering its own atmosphere guaranteed to break the necks of zombies trying to take over.
Apocalypse Arena
The festival’s main stage sits on the far-left side of the venue, right beside the Queen Mary. Prepare to be captivated all weekend long with Zomboy, Kompany, and Sullivan King on Friday, starting the weekend strong. If you’re brave enough to return Saturday, expect nothing but bone-rattling bass from sets such as Level Up, Alleycvt b2b Levity, and finishing off with the brain-melting sounds from Subtronics.
Zombieland Citadel
On the opposite end of the grounds, see the fire reflect off the water and watch picturesque sunsets as the water ripples from all the bass that is sure to be there. Here, you can let the sounds of Zingara and Mersiv’s sunset set wash over you. The fun doesn’t stop there on Saturday; Vastive and Riot Ten accompany the full-throttle grit.
Necropolis District
Situated between Apocalypse Arena and Zombieland Citadel, Necropolis District is built between towering shipping containers. It delivers high knees and deep bass with sets from Fieldz b2b Ophion and Aweminus on Friday. CØNTRA, Casey Club, Ivy Lab, and Truth take to the stage on Saturday.
Quarantine Zone
Take the first step in defeating the zombies because Quarantine Zone is the first stage you’ll see when entering the festival. The Quarantine Zone is dedicated to drum & bass and stacked from start to finish. Start your venture with the zombies with Metrik and Pendulum on Friday. Saturday, come back to regain the strength to defeat the zombies with Tantrum Desire and Hybrid Minds.
Final Survival Tips
The party doesn’t stop when the music ends, head aboard the Queen Mary ship itself for the afterparties both nights! They go from 12:00am – 5:00am each night. Afterparty tickets need to be purchased separately from festival tickets.
