NGHTMRE, the acclaimed American producer and DJ, released his new single “Buried a Friend” on Friday, April 11, 2025 via his Gud Vibrations label. This track is the second single from his forthcoming sophomore album, which follows the debut release of “Torch” featuring A$AP Ferg back in February.
Featuring the vocals of Jaimes, “Buried a Friend” rummages into the theme of letting go and addresses the emotional process of releasing friendships that no longer serve one’s well-being. NGHTMRE shared on Instagram that while the lyrics focus on ending a friendship, the sentiment is broadly applicable to various aspects of life. He emphasizes that letting go is a powerful tool for improving mental, emotional, and physical health.

“‘Buried A Friend’ is such a special song for me,” NGHTMRE shared. “I really fell in love with the idea of incorporating the acoustic guitar and raw vocals as the focus for the beginning of the track, leading into a big, euphoric, melodic drop. I think this is one of the vocals that you can really FEEL the words that Jaimes is singing.”
As NGHTMRE prepares for the release of his second album, MIND FULL, he relentlessly tests the boundaries within the world of EDM. He debuted “Buried A Friend” at Ultra Miami 2025, and the track is ready to be a staple in NGHTMRE’s performances for years to come.
