Kaskade pulls on fans’ heartstrings with the announcement of his new album, undux, slated for release on December 4.
The studio album will mark a spectacular, personal comeback for the electronic icon, highlighting true, raw emotion through its tracks. Undux will be released through Kaskade’s label, Arkade, and longtime Canadian electronic music label, Monstercat. Listeners can already pre-save the album.
With a vulnerable Instagram reel, Kaskade sheds light on his experience creating undux amid the chaos of life’s challenges. He details his journey of stepping back, then channeling real emotions into creating a beautiful, authentic album.
“The process was frustrating. I was making music but it didn’t feel honest. So I shelved what I had, let some time pass and tried again later,” Kaskade shared. “I was sad and lonely and the music reflected that.”
With this album, Kaskade hopes to reach fans in a personal way and touch listeners’ hearts. In turn, he ties his resilience with undux to the wonder of believing in something more.
“Undux became a study of that hope and the beauty that comes from having faith in something bigger than ourselves,” Kaskade said. “ I hope whoever listens can connect to it in that way.”
Because of his legend status in the EDM scene, it’s no surprise Kaskade is persisting for perfection on undux. Record-setting crowds and an extensive list of appearances at bucket-list festivals speak to his lasting impact.
In 2022, Kaskade and deadmau5 came together as Kx5 for an unforgettable show at the LA Memorial Coliseum. Notably, Pollstar deemed it the “largest single-day event headlined by an electronic artist,” with at least 50,000 attendees.
Not surprisingly, Kaskade’s accomplishments stretch beyond the electronic music scene into many walks of life.
He became the first-ever in-game Super Bowl DJ, capturing fans’ thrill for the game with the perfect live soundtrack. Then, he continued in the sports realm with sets at events like the X Games, Formula 1 Racing, and more.
