Colorado-based experimental bass DJ and violinist Josh Teed has officially released his new EP, Taking It All In. This EP showcases Teed’s versatility, including his multi-instrument abilities paired with his genre-blending talents. Before releasing his EP, Teed gave his fans a sneak peek of his new music by releasing two of his six songs, “Wildfire” and “Just Breathe.”
“Just Breathe” dropped in February and was the first preview of Teed’s musical evolution in his new EP. The single features the talents of rapper Chuwee and vocalist Blum. It begins with a melodic piano intro and transitions into a hip-hop beat followed by Chuwee’s verse. Blum’s ethereal vocals overlap with the futuristic synths and elaborate drum programming, mimicking the act of breathing and emphasizing the purpose of the song – “Just Breathe!”
His second single from the EP, “Wildfire,” was released at the end of February and features vocalist Skye Silansky. The song includes a mix of violin, bass, and drum rhythms layered with Silansky’s vocals creating three unique drops.
“This is the most genre-defying track I’ve ever written, with three epic drops all consisting of a different vibe,” said Teed. “Skye’s vocals are the icing on top of the cake, really tying the whole song together – it’s the perfect closer to my new EP Taking It All In.”
The four remaining singles were released on March 7 and perfectly encapsulated Teed’s drive to curate music that reflects his personal experiences while savoring the little moments that often go unrecognized. The other four tracks are the title track “Taking It All In;” “Autumn Breeze” featuring the vocals of Muna; “Clarity In The Chaos,” a collaboration with vocalist Julia Khan; and the final number, “All the Spaces In Between.”
Aside from the release of his new EP, Teed is also currently on the road for his third headlining tour, Taking It All In Live 2024. Fans can expect meticulously crafted sets, featuring new instruments complementing his violin and accompanied by creative new visuals.
