RISE Festival is back for its 10th anniversary and pulling out all the stops. It boasts a music lineup that includes Rufus Du Sol, Calvin Harris, John Mayer, and more. RISE will also feature art installations from HYBYCOZO, Whitaker Studio, and This is Loop. This year, festivalgoers will be greeted by “The Path,” a new immersive art and wellness journey that sets the tone for transformation, connection, and reflection before the first lantern takes flight. The festival will take place over three days on October 3 – 5 at the Jean Dry Lake Bed, about 20 minutes south of Las Vegas.
RISE Art Director John Connors describes The Path as “the first step into the world of RISE—a moment to slow down, take in the surroundings, and enter a shared space that invites curiosity, reflection, and hope.”

Known as the “World’s Largest Sky Lantern Ceremony,” RISE started in the middle of the Mojave Desert in 2014. The festival, of course, couldn’t hold an event in 2020 and took a break in 2024 to plan for 2025. Each attendee is given two paper lanterns to write their “hopes, dreams, fears, and intentions,” and they’re later released into the air twice each night. In alignment with the festival’s ethos of “leave it better than we found it,” each lantern is 100% biodegradable!
RISE will also include large-scale art installations from HYBYCOZO, Whitaker Studio, and This is Loop in an area called The Compass. HYBYCOZO’s “Trillion” and “Diamonds on the Desert” showcase illuminated geometric sculptures that reflect the harmony of natural patterns and human ingenuity. Whitaker Studio’s “Desert Winds” brings graceful, wind-driven sculptures that dance in harmony with nature. “Pulse” by the UK-based collective This is Loop radiates kinetic energy that mirrors RISE’s spirit of joy and movement. RISE’s own creative team, The RISE Collective, will also introduce three new pieces of work, “Mirrors of Reflection,” “Moons on the Horizon,” and “RISE HIGHER.”
