Skybreak Releases Highly Anticipated Album HALF BLOOD

Skybreak’s long-awaited album HALF BLOOD is finally here—and it’s his most personal and powerful work to date. Fusing UK bass roots with his signature bursts of color, the record showcases an artist rediscovering himself. It’s raw, reflective, and alive with both rhythmic grit and emotional depth.

Written during a time of inner change, HALF BLOOD channels the tension between identity, artistry, and urban life. What began as a creative sidequest evolved into a full-body reinvention. Skybreak blends early dubstep, UKG, and grime into a dreamscape shaped by New York and London’s dual energy.

Raised just outside NYC by a British-American family, Skybreak’s cultural split becomes the album’s beating heart. Inspired by subway graffiti, train station maps, and the nightlife of underground cities, HALF BLOOD turns transit into a metaphor. Its visuals and sounds collide like spray paint on concrete—chaotic, vivid, and strangely comforting. Skybreak shares,

HALF BLOOD was never the album I expected to write. I was in the process of writing the album I thought others wanted from me, but nothing felt genuine. So this started out as a sidequest – my attempt at taking established tropes of UK Bass music and spray painting them with my signature colorful sound design. But it became so much more. This record became a catalyst for rediscovering the roots of the genre. An ode to my heritage, both as a dual citizen of the US and UK and an electronic music fan at large. My bridge between the sounds and aesthetics of New York and London. Most importantly, a diary documenting the mistakes and growing pains of learning to become my most authentic self. I believe this to be my maturest body of work yet and I’m ecstatic to share this with the world.

Best known for pioneering the “colour bass” movement, Skybreak takes a more grounded approach on this project. He draws from Burial, G Jones, The Caracal Project, and Hamdi to create mood-heavy grooves and glitchy atmospheres. Yet his signature melodic touches still burst through, like light through tunnel cracks.

Songs like “ANXIETY” and “CHRYSALIS” embrace darkness without flinching, while “STAR CANNON” and “CAN’T LET GO” offer radiant contrast. The push and pull of shadow and color gives HALF BLOOD an emotional realism rarely heard in bass music. It doesn’t sit in one mood—it evolves, like its creator.

HALF BLOOD also marks his first solo full-length in nearly seven years, reintroducing Skybreak as a bold storyteller and genre-shifter. He’s no longer just a name in festival lineups—he’s shaping the future of the bass scene. This album isn’t just a return; it’s a statement. Whether you’ve followed Skybreak since Moonglow or are just discovering him now, HALF BLOOD is a journey worth taking. You can stream the full album now on all major platforms, and step into the world where concrete meets color.
