Bass heavyweight Crankdat is embracing his experimental growth by joining forces with Three 6 Mafia legend Juicy J in his new Monstercat record, “Open The Pit.” This exciting new tune arrives with an animated GTA-inspired music video created by Lee Griffin and Crankdat, with contributions from JasePlanet.
Returning to Monstercat Uncaged for their debut collaboration, “Open The Pit” highlights the exciting blend of EDM and hip-hop within the music industry. Electronic producers are proving their versatility by creating sounds that push beyond the usual boundaries, while hip-hop artists tap into EDM’s festival culture. The tease of this release has been making waves in the live circuit at places like Crankdat’s debut Lost Lands performance and his set at Arizona’s Rawhide Event Center in support of Illenium.
Crankdat has been on fire during his run of sellout appearances, moving over 11,000 tickets and selling out his four-stop Absolute Annihilation California tour. On top of all that madness, he nearly packed the entire venue from front to back with his recent BOO! Seattle set. Creating beyond the limits of one’s mind, he crafts graphic teaser shorts for his releases and stage visuals, demonstrating his multifaceted talents beyond music production!
“I’m so excited that “Open The Pit” is finally coming out,” Crankdat shared. “This song has been 3 years in the making and getting Juicy J on it was a dream come true. Along with the record we are also releasing a music video that has been a labor of love to plan out and help create, and I can’t wait for everyone to see and hear it.”
