Ladies Throw Down On ‘Ink & Iron’ Compilation

In honor of Women’s History Month, Beat Intelligence Network and GRL GANG present Ink & Iron, a 10-track dubstep compilation. Featuring female talent of the dubstep genre, the compilation is explosive and hardcore with a touch of mystical girl power.

In addition to spotlighting epic female DJs, Ink & Iron will also donate a portion of proceeds to a non-profit charity. Girls Make Beats strives to close the gender gap in music education and technology by mentoring young girls in music.

According to its website, Girls Make Beats serves mostly underrepresented groups, like girls from Black, Latinx, or low-income communities. Over 1300 girls between the ages of five and 17 have benefited from the program since 2012.

Record labels Beat Intelligence Network (BIN) and GRL GANG are undoubtedly the perfect curators for Ink & Iron. GRL GANG, founded by female DJ Jeanie, gives a platform to up-and-coming female DJs who are changing the dubstep scene. Dubstep Filthy Beat Inspectors (Dubstep FBI), a women-owned blog, helps to hype bass artists with mixes, interviews, and fashion. Dubstep FBI launched its own record label, BIN, in 2025.

Setting a high bar for the compilation, Ink & Iron kicks off with a heavy hitter by Akeos. “Injury” opens with a rollercoaster of whimsical sound that leads into an unexpectedly heavy riddim drop. It perfectly previews the track list and gives listeners a clear preview of what lies ahead.

Overall, Ink & Iron has a healthy balance of riddim, headbangers, and hardcore dance tracks to please every listener. The second track, “Drag Me Under” by Poni, introduces a dark and mystical vibe to the compilation’s soundscape. Using raspy, captivating vocals, Poni creates incredible texture against bright yet devious drops.

Green Matter brings the energy up a notch with her track “Higher.” Incredibly danceable, laser-finger inducing, and packed with rail-riding energy, this one is definitely a crowd-pleaser.

HEXXA keeps the chaotic headbanger energy going while reintroducing epic femme fatale vibes with “KISS OF DEATH.” Next, Riviera’s experimental and introspective “So Sus” serves as a perfect interlude for the compilation.

“Bass Baddies” by AIMER featuring Talakai is the epitome of a high-knee bop for all the riddim girlies tuning in. Bouncy bass and catchy vocals perfectly encapsulate the hot girl energy Ink & Iron strives for.

Kattana’s “Time Doesn’t Play Game” whips listeners back into a headbanging frenzy and stirs excitement for the last few tracks. PNTHR’s “CAT PAW” adds to the whimsical vibe with a spooky, fantasy-like track with more bassface-riddled drops.

“HERO OF HELL” by ELLE RICH is hands-down the heaviest, most aggressive song of the compilation. This is easily the peak track of the catalog with a rapid buildup, insane drops, and overall wickedly immersive sound.

TrebleTina closes Ink & Iron flawlessly with “Queen of HZ,” another track focused on crowd movement. Rolling basslines, addictive lyrics, and gripping rhythm make this track a flawless closer for a killer compilation.
