Just three days before the festival gates open in Rothbury, Electric Forest finally dropped its set times. Quietly snuck into the Saturday lineup is the surprise return of a familiar Forest favorite, building the community’s anticipation to a climax.
The “Final Phase” of the Electric Forest lineup was released just over two weeks ago, leading ticket holders to believe that they knew what they were getting. Well, if you know anything about Electric Forest, then you know it is no stranger to surprises.
On Saturday, June 20, Levity return to the place that catapulted their meteoric rise to EDM superstardom, joined by two other mystery b2b partners.
This time, the set will take place at Electric Forest’s main stage, Ranch Arena, slotted for 12:15-1:30 AM.
Considering the placement between The String Cheese Incident and Zeds Dead, on a stage that has hosted EDM’s finest like John Summit, GRiZ, and ODESZA, you can only expect something huge.
Levity’s iconic forest debut in 2023 began as a surprise to the group itself, per their instagram. In 2023, John Hauldron (1/3 of Levity) traveled to Electric Forest to attend as a fan. After receiving word that another artist had missed their flight, Levity were asked to fill in for a last-minute set. PJ’s boss called him to leave work immediately, so he drove from Chicago to Rothbury, arriving a little over an hour before their set. Unfortunately, Josh, Levity’s third member, couldn’t make it due to school commitments.
What would begin as a small crowd of a few people at the Honeycomb stage, would quickly transform into a jam-packed party surrounding the group’s 360-set performance. This would become one of the highlights of the festival that year and pave the way for an incredible return in 2024 with the group as a whole.
Beginning as a fill-in, to completely packing that same stage a year later, and now three years down the road playing the main stage—Levity’s rise speaks to the elements of magic and discovery that are woven into Electric Forest. The Forest cultivates careers. An artist can go from crowd member to headliner in just a few years. Saturday’s set won’t be just another performance; it’ll be a homecoming.
