Launch Guide: Head Trip

Head Trip makes its way to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, this weekend, October 10–11, for two nights of performances from some of the biggest names in EDM history. This one-time-only festival, brought to you by Goldenvoice, is shaping up to be a historic weekend in the desert, so here’s what you need to know before you go!

Location + Hours

Head Trip will take place at the Empire Polo Club, the same iconic venue that is home to Coachella and Stagecoach. Parking lots open at 1 PM each day and the festival gates open at 3 PM. Curfew is 1 AM Saturday night and midnight on Sunday. Check out the festival map below to get familiar with the grounds before you arrive!

This is an 18+ event, so make sure to bring a valid photo ID to enter the festival. Don’t forget to register your wristband in the Head Trip app before arriving. This festival is also cashless, so bring a card or have mobile pay ready.

Set Times

Head Trip features one main stage with no overlapping sets allowing attendees to experience every performance without making any painful scheduling decisions. The main stage was designed by Romain Pissenem and his creative production company, High Scream, bringing a unique production designed to look impressive from anywhere in the crowd.

Floating Points Sunflower Sound System

In addition to the massive main stage, Floating Points’ Sunflower Sound System will make its US debut at Head Trip. The experience will be housed in its own dome surrounded by speakers and feature a dedicated lineup throughout the weekend. The stage will run from 3 PM to 12:30 AM on Saturday and 3 PM to 11:30 PM on Sunday, giving attendees another sonic scape to explore between main-stage acts.

Transportation

Day parking is free but limited, with lots opening at 1 PM each day. Cars left after 2 AM will be towed, so don’t let the desert festivities make you forget your car! Preferred Parking is also available, with no entry after 8 PM.

Any Time, Any Line shuttles run from multiple stops around the valley, with return service ending 60 minutes after the music stops each night. Rideshare pickup and drop-off will be available at Lot 1D at Avenue 49 + Monroe, from 1 PM to 3 AM on Saturday and Sunday.

Bag Policy

Bags, backpacks, and purses must be 18″ x 13″ x 8.5″ or smaller. Hydration packs are allowed as long as they are empty and have a capacity of 2L or less. Empty plastic water bottles up to 64 oz are also permitted and free water refill stations will be available throughout the venue.

Each campsite must also have one vehicle parked within it. All passengers and vehicles will be searched upon entry. Motorcycles, RVs, trailers, motorhomes, buses, and U-Haul trucks are prohibited.

Free showers are available in lot 5B, while supermarket shuttles will provide rides to a nearby grocery store from 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturday and Sunday, making it easy to restock your camp.

The afters will run from midnight to 4 AM on Saturday and Sunday, with a kickoff party Friday from 9 PM to 4 AM to get the festival weekend started right.

For those looking to take the party beyond the polo fields, the exclusive “Desert Nights: Headtrip Edition” afterparty will take place at the gorgeous Zenyara estate each night from Friday through Sunday. Capacity is extremely limited so make sure to secure your ticket in advance!

The desert is bringing the heat. Saturday, October 10 is expected to reach a high of 90°F with a low of 73°F. Sunday, October 11 is expected to reach a high of 84°F with a low of 68°F.
