Global Dance Festival Cancels 2025 Event

Last week, Colorado-based event producer Global Dance quietly announced via social media that its annual festival will take the year off. Global Dance Festival has been a summer staple in Denver for over 20 years. It has evolved alongside the EDM scene in Denver and has featured plenty of notable headliners throughout the years. Since its inception, GDF has been held at multiple venues, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Empower Field Stadium parking lot.

The event was moved to the National Western Complex last year, and the experience was not what attendees had hoped for. Many fans expressed dissatisfaction with the venue in their comments on Global Dance’s Instagram page. We were in attendance and noted some issues with the venue and the overall experience.

I think it will be good for Global Dance to take this year to regroup and find a new permanent home for the event. They also have the chance to completely reinvent this event and restore the experience that fans have come to expect. Global Dance has produced other successful events around Denver, including Decadence at the Colorado Convention Center and Regenerate at Civic Center Park. Other viable options include Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, or even Fulsom Field in Boulder. Wherever Global Dance Festival ends up, I look forward to attending again in 2026. Stay up to date with the latest developments by using the links below.
