Ilan Bluestone, the Anjunabeats mainstay and frequent international festival DJ, took full advantage of the opportunity to lay down a trademark trance remix for Tritonal’s collaboration with Au5 “Happy Where We Are.” featuring vocals from Dylan Matthews. Bluestone boasts a four-minute remix and a more emotional six-minute extended mix, released through Enhanced Music.
Evoking a retro 80s vibe, the remix starts out with a dark and pulsating drum beat. Like a memory from the past, Bluestone echoes and fades the vocals, giving the remix a nostalgic feel. Then like a rush of emotion, the bass starts to build, bar over bar, until the big release. As the melody and vocals fill out, it is a reaffirmation of the valuable memories of that moment in time, when we were “Happy Where We Are.”
