Get to know Tyler Morris, a born and raised New Yorker who makes music under the alias Westend. With acclaimed releases on labels such as Dirtybird, Dim Mak, Country Club Disco, Club Sweat, and more, Westend landed bookings at events like the DirtyBird Campout West, elrow NYC, and will be going #inORBIT on Friday May 8, streaming on the ORBIT Virtual Experience Benefiting Feeding America. Rest assured, you’re bound to catch him throwing down dance music sound waves straight into your eardrums.
Westend released his most recent EP, Pay Attention, just about a month ago, and he was recently picked up by Noizu, dropping his latest track “Ya Feeling Me” to the Techne imprint on April 24. The new single slaps, layering mesmerizing vocals over kinetic sounding synths and commanding drum lines.
With his exuberant tech-house beats and bold New York personality, the sound Westend creates is the result of lots of experimentation in the studio. Electronic music fans will find what one would expect from modern house hits, with a little splash of the electro sound people love from artists like Justice and The Bloody Beetroots. Westend even takes the BPM up a notch with his “Party Time (Drum & Bass VIP).”
Westend has received recognition from Beatport on a few of his prior EPs, charting Gyrate at number one for future house and Excuses in the top five for tech-house. He regularly updates his tech-house playlist on Spotify and maintains an extensive playlist of extended mixes on SoundCloud.
Be prepared to head #inORBIT with the talented tech-house producer Westend as he takes part in the ORBIT Virtual Experience Benefiting Feeding America Friday May 8 at 10pm EST and 7pm PST.
