He might’ve been too young for 90s raves, but who says a young dog can’t make deep tracks. Released May 28th on Factory93, I Was Too Young For 90’s Raves features three bang up tunes blending all the best parts of techno and progressive house.
You’ll be saying thank you, after checking out the first track, named Thanks Guy. Brown fuses a wild punchy baseline with a groovy melody, as a horn and deep beats carry you further and further into the track. It’s a new take on a classic sound, before he teams up with artist Raito on the EP’s second track to bring you old school dirty techno feelings.
The track, which is still an unnamed ID, quite literally kicks you back to a dark warehouse with that signature high hat sound and dark techno basslines. Brown manages to weave in the progressive melodies he’s mastered for a well rounded tune. Such progressive sounds come out to really play in the last song, bearing the same name as the EP itself. It’s a showcase of Brown’s sound, and a great conclusion to the killer EP.
The 27 year old DJ has already made quite a name for himself, as a solid member of the Anjuna Beats family and having played some of the biggest festivals in the world, including Tomorrowland. His 2020 album Stream of Consciousness topped the iTunes dance music charts, and he recently returned to the stage at last weekend’s Seismic Dance Event in Austin TExas.
