Following the release of his emotive bass single “Speak Easy” featuring Alexander Smash and Ghostlo, industry heavyweight NGHTMRE returns with Yung Pinch for new summer anthem “Scars.” Out now via Ultra Records, “Scars” begins a string of unbeatable releases we can expect from the LA-based producer this summer.
“Scars” opens with a clear hip-hop influence and sparse guitar plucks. Yung Pinch flows over the track effortlessly, carrying the flow forward. The iconic 808 sound gives the track some weight as it builds to the hook, dropping in with a catchy vocal chop line.
The smooth transition from the verse to the drop and back, keeps the listener engaged as the track seamlessly moves. After another verse, the drop comes back featuring the same vocal line, but this time the listener is treated to a fuller drop with big chords.
“Scars” is a beautiful combination of hip-hop, electronic, and songwriting which is rarely heard. Each element of the track works in harmony to create a catchy aural experience. “Scars” is the third track from NGHTMRE this year; coming off some big festival announcements, you can surely expect him to have more very soon.
