Local Dialect Drops Debut EP on Deep State

Article by: Sam Wolloch

Local Dialect, the Queens, New York duo comprised of Sam Perricone and Reed Tan, produces electronic dance music that is both exciting and evocative. Their newest release, a two-track debut EP on Grum’s Deep State Records, certainly lives up to the group’s reputation for producing music with poignant melodies and powerful basslines.

The first song “Radamanthus,” named after the mythological son of Zeus and judge of the dead in the underworld, is a moving melody of synths accompanied by a bubbling deep bassline, which eventually make way to a euphoric release. The second single, “Artemis,” who is the daughter of Zeus and the Greek goddess of the hunt, is slightly more subliminal with its production, starting with a minimal melodic riff before it develops and crescendos into an epic climax.

Both tracks on the EP are seven minute masterpieces of melodic techno and progressive house music, and are also available as shorter four minute radio edits. Drawing on influences from artists like Lane 8, Yotto, and Tinlicker, Local Dialect dazzles with their debut on Deep State Records. One thing is clear for lovers of dance floor grooves and emotional melodies, Local Dialect definitely speaks your language.
