Wax Motif certainly sets the tone for this year’s steamy summer nights with his new single “Thrills.” Featuring singer Jaxon Rose, the lyrics are hot but heartbroken over a sexy house beat. Chasing thrills in the Hollywood Hills is the theme, and the killer combo of Rose’s R&B vocals and Wax Motif’s house mastery tells the story perfectly.
“Thrills” follows a recent collab with Russian house duo Phlegmatic Dogs “Need You,” and is also the latest release off Wax Motif’s upcoming album, which also shares the same title as the track. THRILLS is due out on the Australian producer’s very own Divided Souls imprint later on this year.
Wax Motif, born Danny Chien, is no stranger to any subgenre of house. From last year’s stylin’ club anthem “All Black Everything” and more upbeat bass tracks like “Skank n Flex,” to groovy and more rhythmic jams like his track with Diplo, “Love to the World,” Wax Motif is amassing a discography with something for everyone. Release after release keeps rolling out, and “Thrills” is sure to be another major crowd pleaser in his festival sets this summer.
