Gud Vibrations calls upon Kraysh to bring his dark and shadowy production to the table with “Shrapnel.” The producer recently appeared on the label twice in the previous year, releasing “GA FFA” and “Thoughts.” His third installment is a left-field dubstep creation that hones in on ominous and powerful bass.
“Shrapnel” captures Kraysh’s production style as it blends obscure drum patterns with heavy and commanding bass lines. Despite a similar style to his previous two Gud Vibration releases, this track is still unique as anything, and will attract bassheads.
“Shrapnel” opens with a symphony of strings luring the listener into slow buildup to an ambiguous, deep bass drop. It comes as a bit of a shock—a complete 180 degree turn from the intro, making that much better. The second drop comes as less of a surprise with a buildup much more gruesome than the first. The track ends in a hypnotizing outro, taunting listeners to press repeat.
Today’s release is the first of the year for Gud Vibrations, and sets up what should be a stellar year for both the label and Kraysh. Let’s hope 2021 treats us much, much better than 2020. To stay up to date with Kraysh, check out the links below.
