Australian producer Heimanu has been making some noise in the wave and trap communities since 2018 when he dropped his remix of RL Grime’s “UCLA”. He’s garnered support from scene staples like Hex Cougar, Luca Lush, and Krane. His tracks have previously been released on Sable Valley, Circus Records, Night Mode, and Dim Mak. Now he’s back on Dim Mak’s New Noise imprint for his latest single “Kanos,” out everywhere today.
As the creator of the NuRave, “Kanos” embodies a more energetic take on the wave genre. The track opens with a soaring vocal before immediately dropping into a horn-filled verse with a heavy, vibey bass line that will have the listener nodding along. At the midpoint of the track, Heimanu cuts everything except the synth before building back up with rapid snare hits. The second drop includes arpeggiated synths, rolling hi-hats, and a punchy snare. “Kanos” is the perfect track to showcase Heimanu’s production talent and his vision for the NuRave sound.
We’ll be eagerly awaiting what Heimanu drops next and where he takes the growing NuRave genre. Stream “Kanos” and keep up with Heimanu by clicking the links below.
