Fresh off of a killer EP on DND Recs Ekonovah is gassing us up again with the release of “Hit The Gas” on Insomniac’s IN / ROTATION. Ekonovah’s first release with Insomniac “Medicine,” reached over 300,000 streams while being featured on Insomniac’s Night Owl Radio, Zeds Dead radio, Alison Wonderland’s Radio, and even gained a feature on House Werk on Spotify!
“Writing Hit The Gas was super fun,” said Ekonovah. Stephen remembers making the bassline sound and feeling compelled to jump around in his room. “Fortunately, crowds seem to have the same reaction when I play it! Really happy with the way this one came out,” he said.
Ekonovah put together this track in just a few sittings and he said of producing this song that, “Hit The Gas is one of those tracks that you write… and then have almost no recollection of the process. I think my favorite part of the track is the 808 hits in the break down, something about them makes me feel like I am floating around in space and I love it!”
Ekonovah wrote this track in hope that it would bring an entirely new energy to his shows to raise the bar from what he’s been doing in performances. “I think I played it out for the first time at Bonnaroo 2019, and had lots of people after my set ask me what track it was! At the time, it was just an ID without a vocal, but I knew it was going to resonate with crowds after that set,” he said.
