AWON and Dani King Shine With New Track “Without You”

Article By: Kate Nelson

The summer of Subsidia is in full effect, with AWON’s latest release on Dawn Volume Six, “Without You,” featuring vocalist Dani King, reminding us that melodic music is still top dog. Three years in the making, the track was an intimate collaboration between the two artists, giving it a special touch.

“Without You” is an emotionally driven track, invoking feelings of picking up the pieces and moving on from a bad relationship. AWON had reached out to King personally after hearing her on one of his tracks, and the story of “Without You” began. “During that time, I was overcoming a breakup…I explained the heartache of my story to Dani, and she was able to put into words what I could not express,” AWON recalls. “Our hopes for this track is to inspire people to move on from toxic relationships, and make them realize that they don’t need someone to be their best version of themselves.”

Transcendent builds combined with King’s vocals ignite the fuel of the heartache charged track, leading to crashing drops that echo the sentiments of the overall message. “Without You” utilizes every aspect of production to create a feeling that will resonate with all. A mid song breakdown places heavy emphasis on not only King’s singing chops, but also impeccable song writing skills.

AWON has been on the rise, playing shows with Kompany, Habstrakt, Ray Volpe, and many more, in addition to having tracks signed with Simplify, Magic Records, and Ride Service. King has also been receiving massive support from big names, including BTSM, Crankdat, Alison Wonderland, and countless others. The last year has been a breakout for her, with performances at major festivals such as Countdown NYE, Lost Lands, and Electric Zoo.
