Taylor Chung, the renown bass artist WENZDAY, is another highly talented producer bringing her DJ skills #inORBIT for the charity livestream this Friday May 8. Growing up in the Bay Area of California and training as a classical vocalist, Wenzday made the bold move to head south to Los Angeles when she was 16 and earned a spot at the illustrious music production school The Icon Collective. Not only did she quickly become one of the most desired open format female DJs in LA, but Wenzday is also the youngest person to DJ at the famous Playboy Mansion.
A look over her musical library reveals an impressive body of work with some of the top record labels in electronic dance music. “Wiggle,” a February 2020 release, is a spunky and upbeat house track in collaboration with Birthdayy Partyy on Gold Digger Records. Wenzday also teamed up with Badjokes to land the track “Work” on Dr. Fresch’s 2020 compilation The Remedy Vol. 2. Her landmark EP Heartbreak House released on Insomniac’s label In / Rotation and the album received such acclaim from the EDM community as “Wenzday hit ‘em with the wubs,” that it spawned her own fan club: Wenzday’s Heartbreakers.
Growing a loyal legion of fans and following a mantra that everyday is Wenzday, she co-founded the record label and clothing brand 40oz Cult with HAMi, and her brother, Dack Janiels. Wenzday dropped Demons Dancing, her 2019 two-track EP, on their label and worked with Dack to perform 40oz Cult Takeovers in majors cities across the US.
Wenzday is no stranger to the festival stage either, playing at legendary events like Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Lost Lands, and Burning Man. Her live sets are packed with pulsating bass lines and devilishly danceable beats. Wenzday also boasts an impressive collection of varied guest mixes for myriad platforms and has both a radio show on DashX and a curated playlist on Spotify called Everyday is Wenzday.
