One of Insomniac’s most iconic festivals, Nocturnal Wonderland, has announced the cancellation of its upcoming event due to wildfires in the San Bernardino area that are threatening the festival’s venue, Glen Helen Amphitheater. Originally scheduled for Sept. 14 and 15, this year’s event would have marked the 29th edition of the festival.
After consulting with local authorities, festival organizers decided to cancel the event to prioritize the health and safety of attendees and staff. The decision also allows local resources to be fully devoted to managing the fires and protecting surrounding communities.
“As Insomniac’s longest-running festival, Nocturnal Wonderland holds a special place in our hearts, and we are truly saddened that we will not be able to unite with you all this year,” the festival said in a statement on Instagram. “In the coming days, we will share more information on how our dance music community can come together to support and give back to the courageous firefighters and those displaced or affected by the fires.”
Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella also expressed his sorrow over the cancellation.
“My thoughts and prayers go to all those affected by the fires,” Rotella said. “Heartbroken about the cancellation. Your support means the world. Can’t wait to celebrate together in the future.”
Nocturnal Wonderland has informed festival pass holders that additional emails with detailed refund information will be sent out soon.
