RESISTANCE Miami Race Week 2023 is Here!

Article by: Rob Burnet

Start your engines folks! A month after launching the brand-new M2 Miami nightclub with four sold-out Miami Music Week shows, ULTRA Worldwide’s famed RESISTANCE concept shifts gears to welcome Miami Race Week. Those familiar with Ultra Music Festival Miami will recognize the RESISTANCE brand known for taking over the Megastructure with the biggest names in house and techno, but its reach goes far beyond the Bayfront Park behemoth. RESISTANCE has curated stages and tours spanning 35 cities internationally and held a residency at the world’s largest nightclub, Privilege Ibiza, before moving to South Beach for its first-ever U.S. Club Residency at M2 Miami nightclub.

The venue itself is a two-floor, 35,000-square-foot historic event space primed for revival. Designed in 1934 by the architect of the Empire State Building, the space has had many names over the years: Club Z, Club 1235, Paragon, Prince’s Glam Slam, and most recently Mansion. The club received an extensive multi-million dollar renovation to bring world-class production and sound fit for the biggest names in dance music. Fans will get the chance to see all it has to offer this Race Week from Friday, May 5 to Sunday, May 7.

The festivities begin on Friday, May 5 when superstars Green Velvet and Claude VonStroke grace the boards back-to-back as their collaborative project GET REAL. Get your shuffle shoes ready for the tech-house legends famous for bringing a high-energy atmosphere with old-school house and techno futurism. Friday is the day of B2B’s as it was recently announced that GET REAL will be joined by Art Department (Jonny White and Kenny Glasgow) as well as a B2B performance by Rafa Barrios and Technasia.

Swedish techno king Adam Beyer will take control on Saturday, returning to M2 after his immensely successful Miami Music Week Drumcode label showcase just a month ago. One of the most respected icons of modern techno, Adam Beyer has built a legacy that has influenced generations of artists around the globe. He will be joined by techno mavens Matador and KASIA in an event that will surely get the crowd’s adrenaline pumping.

When one sees that Charlotte de Witte and Sama’ Abdulhadi are headlining Sunday, one thing comes to mind: deep, dark techno. These ladies have been on fire in recent years. Charlotte’s brand of minimal and acid techno has propelled her to the top of the genre, being named The World’s No. 1 Techno DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2022. Sama is known for high-octane, punchy techno with highlights such as a 3-million-view Boiler Room set and an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. They will be joined by the deep pulsing tech-house and shaggy techno beats of Carlo Lio.
