RAVE ON!! As I anticipated last night, EDC Las Vegas is a full send! From the man himself, Pasquale just announced via his social media that EDC Las Vegas will be taking place as planned starting May 21, 2021.
The anticipation has been killing us for this announcement, as the city of Las Vegas and Insomniac/Live Nation have been going back and forth on logistics to make this happen. It was reported earlier today by the local news station KTNV that the original plan presented by the insomniac team was declined by the city of Las Vegas due to not complying with Directive 041, which is related to capacity and social distancing requirements in the state of Nevada.
The original plan included some precautionary methods and we can expect there to be similar measures made in the updates that will come in the following days:
- Required to show a negative test to enter the grounds, or provide proof of vaccination for COVID-19.
- COVID-19 sniffing dogs on the festival grounds (yes this is a serious thing, I didn’t believe it either).
- All attendees will be required to wear masks.
- Rapid tests would also be at the festival as-needed.
The load in and festival site build is set to begin starting next week, with this year’s event being the first time the festival will encompass the entire Las Vegas Speedway.
More information about waitlist for the festival can be found on the EDCLV website here.
