Evolutions Festival in New York postpones its event via official social media channels citing venue permitting issues as the cause.
The announcement hit social media feeds on Tuesday afternoon, just over a week before the festival’s kickoff on Sep. 5 at Sugar Mountain Performing Arts Center. Disappointed comments shared frustration over the short notice and loss of preparation costs, such as flight and hotel expenses.
According to the website’s FAQ section, all ticket sales are non-refundable under most circumstances, including postponement and total cancellation.
Although the venue has yet to release an official statement, the operator of Sugar Mountain Performing Arts LLC, Jeremy Lane took to the Evolutionaries public Facebook group – a community for Evolutions Festival attendees.
“I will make an official statement on the Evolutions Festival Cancellation soon. For the meantime, please know Sugar Mountain PAC is fully licensed and permitted to host Evolutions and have a full campground status,” Lane wrote.
Prior to the postponement, Lane also shared a PDF file of Sugar Mountain’s permit to operate a campground, effective Aug. 19.

Although it’s unknown whether the lineup will see changes given the recent delay, Evolutions Festival had a promising program prepared. Headliners Alison Wonderland, Ganja White Night and Of The Trees highlighted the festival’s dreamy, mystical vibe with deep bass icons dotting supporting tiers.
