Body Language 2022: Nine Can’t Miss Sets

Article and Playlist by: Grant Soffer

Body Language Music Festival starts this Friday! With so much incredible talent on the lineup, it can be hard to choose exactly what sets to go to, especially if you aren’t familiar with the whole lineup. Thankfully, we got you covered! Here are Moon Lvnding’s top picks of sets to go see this weekend:

Friday

Rebuke

Where and When: 3:00 – 4:30pm at Labyrinth Stage

Body Language will open the doors to the festival at 2pm, with some incredible talent kicking off each day. One of the top artists to come early for is Rebuke. One of the most exciting breakout artists of the last few years, Rebuke brings a unique and interesting sound to his sets, unlike any other artist. He always plays a fun set and it is the perfect set to start your festival weekend. He is definitely worth leaving work early to come see.

Ida Engberg

Where and When: 6:00 7:30 pm at Labyrinth Stage

Also playing on the Labyrinth stage is Ida Engberg. This Swedish producer is one of the more versatile DJs on the lineup, specializing in everything from big room techno to deep house. She is rarely booked for Arizona shows and should be one of the DJs on your short list of people to see this weekend.

Kaskade – Redux Set

Where and When: 9:00 – 10:30pm at Mirage Stage

One of the biggest names on the lineup, Kaskade will be closing out Friday with a redux set. Kaskade’s redux sets go back to his roots, delivering a mix of unreleased house music he usually reserves for smaller, more intimate settings. Relentless Beats was nice enough not to schedule any conflicting sets at the same time.

Saturday

Township Rebellion

Where and When: 3:55 – 5:25pm at Mirage Stage

This duo is sure to bring some of the most unique sounds of the weekend. Specializing in minimal techno, this duo always delivers a great set and will be the perfect way to start Saturday. This is definitely a set worth coming early for.

Dombresky b2b Noizu

Where and When: 7:30 – 9:00pm at Labyrinth Stage

One of the most highly anticipated house b2bs is finally making its debut in Arizona. Dombresky and Noizu are two standout house artists from the last few years and always deliver fun, energetic sets. Whether you know their music or not, these two will absolutely be one of the best sets of the festival weekend.

Carl Cox

Where and When: 8:30 – 10:30pm at Mirage Stage

This list is not a ranking but rather recommendations. However, if artists were ranked, Carl Cox would be at the very top. Carl Cox is a pioneer of dance music, acid house, disco, and especially techno. He has been transforming dance music since the 80s and has consistently been one of the top DJs and producers in the rave scene ever since. It’s been a while since Arizona has been blessed by the sounds of the King of Ibiza, so this is a set that you should absolutely make the time for. If there is one set that you absolutely do not want to miss this weekend, it is Carl Cox.

Sunday

Sohmi

Where and When: 3:00 – 3:55pm at Mirage Stage

After two days of festivities, you might be considering some extra rest and showing up a little later on Sunday. Bad idea! Sohmi takes over the main stage at 3pm and she is absolutely worth fighting the urge to sleep in. Sohmi mixes everything from minimal techno and jazz to 90’s pop music. This up and coming producer is one you will want to set a Sunday alarm for.

Lee Foss

Where and When: 5:30 – 7:00pm at Mirage Stage

If you like to dance, this is the set for you. Lee Foss brings a combination of funky and chill vibes, blended together into one of the most fun sets that you will probably ever experience. Whether you know his music or not, this is going to be an incredibly fun set and one we recommend checking out.

Boris Brejcha

Where and When: 8:30 – 10:00pm at Mirage Stage

Headlining Sunday and closing out the festival is the legend himself, Boris Brejcha. Boris is most famous for creating his own music genre, high-tech minimal, and has been pushing the boundaries of techno ever since he came onto the scene in 2006. This will be the perfect set to end the weekend.
