The drive down to Tucson was full of excitement as Moon Lvnding set up for early arrival camping on Thursday for The Gem & Jam Festival. Even with the limited number of early arrivals, the campground was radiating positive energy. As the weekend progressed, the vibes continued to grow with each new arrival. Mother Nature also made her presence felt, as frigid cold winds were a powerful force over a few days.
The desert forces made for an exhilarating ambiance as attendees entered the festival. If you weren’t exploring the surplus of booths and art, then you were getting your blood flowing on the dance floor with an amalgamation of musical genres at the various stages. The stage production was especially impressive – from the thematic decorations to the visual and lighting productions, each stage provided a unique and fun experience for festival goers.
Each set had its own vibe and style, but one thing remained consistent: the smiles on people’s faces. From children to seniors and ducks to dogs, all those enjoying the music shared in the positivity and spirituality in the air.
During those times when you wanted to relax or just take a breather, there was no shortage of activities to take part in. Throughout the day, there were yoga sessions, affirmational speeches, and drum circles that radiated wholesome energy.
As someone who has never attended Gem & Jam, I was truly blown away by the event. This is not your typical festival. It provides you with not only great music, but an array of eclectic artists showcasing their work. I would, without a doubt, recommend attending this festival and experiencing all the things Gem & Jam has to offer.
