Insomniac’s flagship event EDC Las Vegas will be postponed until the weekend of October 2nd-4th. Insomniac Founder, Pasquale Rotella had remained optimistic and has held out until the very last moment before making the decision, but per recommendation of Las Vegas health officials, EDC will be pushed back until later in 2020.
The official announcement will be made this week, but according to this Billboard article, the decision has been made. This has been expected for quite some time with all of the cancellations surrounding the music community that has been directly impacted from the COVID-19 Coronavirus. As of right now, we do not have any information on whether they will be offering refunds or about camping situations. FrontGate tickets did however send out an email on Monday 3/30 with the option to put a pause on your payments for the event.
This is still an evolving situation, but this was the best case scenario for the festival as not many weekends were available at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
This will be the only time that EDC has had to postpone their flagship event in Vegas for any reason. Plans this year were to expand their usage of the speedway for the first time ever to include the entire area of the speedway to be able to bring more unique activations and stages to Las Vegas.
The stages include kineticFIELD, cosmicMEADOW, circuitGROUNDS, neonGARDEN, bassPOD, wasteLAND, quantumVALLEY, stereoBLOOM and EDC’s newest stage solely dedicated to house music, the skyLAB.
While we are saddened by this news, it is in the best interest for everyone, and needs to be done so that we can all get back to our normal lives sooner than later. Please stay safe and be healthy everyone, sending lots of positive energy to all of our readers ❤️.
