The biggest names in future bass and dubstep, Illenium and Excision, teamed up once again on the track “Feel Something” after the huge success of their most recent collaboration “Gold (Stupid Love)” debuted at the 2018 Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. Both artists have been very busy recently: Illenium released his third album Ascend along with a North American tour spanning 33 cities and featuring phenomenal production from Dabin, Said the Sky, Day Gatsby, and Annika Wells; Excision unveiled the EP Breaking Through with Dion Timmer as well as the Evolution EP with Wooli, all while preparing for his upcoming curated festivals Bass Canyon and Lost Lands with the looming threat of the COVID-19 pandemic complicating matters.
The track “Feel Something” also features vocals and guitar from the rock group I Prevail, telling a story of someone afraid to let go of the past. The track begins slowly, as Illenium makes the first drop with his familiar future bass tones using slow percussion and synths. Excision follows up with heavier bass on the next drop, along with I Prevail screaming out vocals. Both Excision and Illenium combine their sounds on the final drop, as I Prevail rips the guitar, to produce a drop for the ages. The beautiful guitar riffs and the sharp vocals complement the underlying bass to create another EDM classic.
Weekend warriors all over the world can rejoice a little more during these trying times, as Illenium and Excision finally released the highly anticipated “Feel Something” with I Prevail. Once again, they successfully created the most unreal escape with this bone chilling track that hits so hard one can surely feel it.
