Jade Cicada Drops ‘Lunar Fade’ EP

Fresh off his recent release of the single “Frame Shift,” Jade Cicada has dropped a new EP that showcases his bold new chapter for the new year. Lunar Fade includes “Frame Shift” and three more exciting new singles, and is Jade Cicada’s first project since debuting his hit LP, Pressure Gamut.

“Using a new DAW [digital audio workstation] is a huge inspiration in and of itself,” said Jade Cicada. “New tools bring new ways of thinking and working. I just try to follow where the sounds take me. The EP artwork is a reimagining of what my current studio looks like, surrounded by gear, screens, and speakers, and blasting off into space with cool sounds. My creative mindset was the same as it always has been: Does this feel new and fresh to me? Does this feel like a step forward in my production journey? If both those answers are yes, then it’s usually something I can feel proud of showing the world.”

The four tracks on the EP include three new singles — “Lunar Fade,” “Goober Time,” and “Froggy Style” —along with the previously released “Frameshift.” The first track, “Lunar Fade,” begins with an atmospheric vibe before transitioning into glitchy beats. “Goober Time” and “Froggy Style” are bass-heavy tracks, with “Goober Time” being more upbeat.

On the back of this new EP, Jade Cicada is about to embark on his highly anticipated 2025 tour, “Break the Hold,” with support from EPROM, Resonant Language, Cool Customer, Mr. Carmack, Mad Zach, and more. Our Arizona followers will be pleased to see a tour stop at Walter Where?House, as well as seven other stops on his coast-to-coast tour. Tickets are available through Jade Cicada’s website.
